On certain families of planar patterns and fractals

This survey article is dedicated to some families of fractals that were introduced and studied during the last decade, more precisely, families of Sierpi\'nski carpets: limit net sets, generalised Sierpi\'nski carpets and labyrinth fractals. We give a unifying approach of these fractals and several of their topological and geometrical properties, by using the framework of planar patterns.Comment: survey article, 10 pages, 7 figure

Along with financial markets growth, the amplitude of settlements through payment systems has continuously increased. At the same time, it is necessary to be correlated with the need of streamline of noncash payments and with clients’ demands to transfer sure, efficient and low-cost amounts of money. This action determined passing over to the electronic payment system functioning in real time. In this respect, we aim at drawing up a concise presentation of the electronic payment system in our country combined with assessments of this system aligned to the European Union’s from the point of view of functionalities as well as respecting European and international standards and practices in the field.interbank payments, electronic system, TARGET, Euro system, Single Market, real time payments, efficiency

As our society has gradually changed in the past few years with the new technology, the internet has become more and more present at our workplace and in our learning methods. The internet brought us an easier access to information offering a range of tools and capabilities to workers. Teaching and learning has changed since the technological explosion. The related aspects to their effectiveness are: time, place, delivery process and learning process. In this article we'll try to explain the associated concepts with e-learning, like the stakeholders involved, the technology and the provided products and services, and other related issues and trends.Internet, E-learning, Information Communications Technology, PHP, MySQL, Databases

Reduction of spurious velocity in finite difference lattice Boltzmann models for liquid - vapor systems

The origin of the spurious interface velocity in finite difference lattice Boltzmann models for liquid - vapor systems is related to the first order upwind scheme used to compute the space derivatives in the evolution equations. A correction force term is introduced to eliminate the spurious velocity. The correction term helps to recover sharp interfaces and sets the phase diagram close to the one derived using the Maxwell construction.Comment: 22 pages, 10 figures (submitted to International Journal of Modern Physics C- Physics and Computers

Mankind consume more and more information. These are different information for different decisions. There are different users, information consumers, but all of them have a common purpose, that of wellbeing and good. People want, wanted and shall want to live better, to do things better, to communicate better, even if they live in a network of information manipulation vectors. When the information manipulation is to the benefit of a minority, it harms the others. The 3R principle is no longer respected.financial information, transparency, publicity, confidentiality

Can Insurance Companies Control their financial stability? Practical Solutions

    Get PDF
Taking into account the actual economic situation of the world with numerous financial crisis, the insurance companies should control their financial stability in order to avoid the insolvency or even bankruptcy state. Thus, the insurers should find the adequate methods of substantiating the premium installments, the adequate ways of attracting insurances in order to achieve the right structure of the portfolio and the desired level of financial stability within the company. The present paper proposes mathematical calculation, through which different solution may be given in order to optimize insurance portfolio, determining thus its adequate structure to a certain level of stability planned by the company. The result of elaborated studies and analysis represents an useful instrument for the insured persons, being able to choose the right type of insurance, resting on its comparisons, analysis and conclusions, and for the insurance companies, being meant to improve their subscription and investment activity, as well as the financial stability. The mathematical calculation shown within this paper may be applied in practice and improved.insurance; financial stability; optimize subscription portfolio; mathematical calculation
