Logistics and entreprise's field
This paper presents the connection between logistics and the enterprise’s yield. Logistics is a set of activities developed before and during production process, including the physical distribution’s activities of the finished products towards the consumers. The marketing’s target is to serve the clients as well as or even better the competition does and, at the same time, get profit. The effective demand required by marketing is realized throughout logistics. The logistics system’s activities are costs generators and they are retrieved in the total cost of the finished product. Detecting the connections between the way of accomplishing a creative activity of value and the cost or the performance of another activity, logistics gives an influence to the enterprise’s yield. How to Measure Intellectual Capital?
Converting knowledge or intellectual capital into long-term business value is, in practice, a far more difficult process than in theory. While developing and implementing knowledge or intellectual capital philosophy’s in management processes, companies experience difficulties in measuring the contribution of their intangibles to business results and, what is more critical, companies fail in their efforts to reproduce the conditions and the processes that have unlocked the value creation potential of their intangibles. The challenge for corporations in the coming years is to identify all the elements of their value creation cycle (their strategically important tangible and intangible resources) and how these must flow, interact and contribute to sustain the organic development of the organization and significantly enhance its value creation capabilities. Without a method and instruments to identify the inter-relationships and the conversion process between intangible assets – knowledge, competencies, partnerships – and all the situations and contexts to which they add value, performance measurement systems will not be able to reveal the true performance of a company or reveal the patterns of value creation. The concepts and methods that we will describe in this paper propose a critical and practical point in designing and implementing a performance measurement of intellectual capital.intellectual capital,intangible active,performance measurement system.

Fractal dimension of the trajectory of a single particle diffusing in crowded media
Using Monte Carlo simulations we have modeled the diffusion of a single particle in twoand three-dimensional lattices with different crowding conditions given by distinct obstacles size and density. All registered data emphasize that diffusion process is anomalous and diffusing particle describes fractal trajectories. We have introduced a new time-scale fractal dimension, dm, which is related to the anomalous diffusion exponent, α. This allows us to relate the well-known length-scale fractal dimension of the random walk, dw, to the new one introduced here as a time-scale fractal dimension. Moreover, the 3D simulations consider similar conditions to those used in our previous FRAP experiments in order to reveal the relationship between the length and time-scale fractal dimensions
Multimodal Biosensing on Paper-Based Platform Fabricated by Plasmonic Calligraphy Using Gold Nanobypiramids Ink
In this work, we design new plasmonic paper-based nanoplatforms with interesting capabilities in terms of sensitivity, efficiency, and reproducibility for promoting multimodal biodetection via Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR), Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), and Metal Enhanced Fluorescence (MEF). To succeed, we exploit the unique optical properties of gold nanobipyramids (AuBPs) deposited onto the cellulose fibers via plasmonic calligraphy using a commercial pen. The first step of the biosensing protocol was to precisely graft the previously chemically-formed p-aminothiophenol@Biotin system, as active recognition element for target streptavidin detection, onto the plasmonic nanoplatform. The specific capture of the target protein was successfully demonstrated using three complementary sensing techniques. As a result, while the LSPR based sensing capabilities of the nanoplatform were proved by successive 13–18 nm red shifts of the longitudinal LSPR associated with the change of the surface RI after each step. By employing the ultrasensitive SERS technique, we were able to indirectly confirm the molecular identification of the biotin-streptavidin interaction due to the protein fingerprint bands assigned to amide I, amide III, and Trp vibrations. Additionally, the formed biotin-streptavidin complex acted as a spacer to ensure an optimal distance between the AuBP surface and the Alexa 680 fluorophore for achieving a 2-fold fluorescence emission enhancement of streptavidin@Alexa 680 on the biotinylated nanoplatform compared to the same complex on bare paper (near the plasmonic lines), implementing thus a novel MEF sensing nanoplatform. Finally, by integrating multiple LSPR, SERS, and MEF nanosensors with multiplex capability into a single flexible and portable plasmonic nanoplatform, we could overcome important limits in the field of portable point-of-care diagnostics
Apoptotic cell-based therapies against transplant rejection: role of recipient’s dendritic cells
One of the ultimate goals in transplantation is to develop novel therapeutic methods for induction of donor-specific tolerance to reduce the side effects caused by the generalized immunosuppression associated to the currently used pharmacologic regimens. Interaction or phagocytosis of cells in early apoptosis exerts potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects on antigen (Ag)-presenting cells (APC) like dendritic cells (DC) and macrophages. This observation led to the idea that apoptotic cell-based therapies could be employed to deliver donor-Ag in combination with regulatory signals to recipient’s APC as therapeutic approach to restrain the anti-donor response. This review describes the multiple mechanisms by which apoptotic cells down-modulate the immuno-stimulatory and pro-inflammatory functions of DC and macrophages, and the role of the interaction between apoptotic cells and APC in self-tolerance and in apoptotic cell-based therapies to prevent/treat allograft rejection and graft-versus-host disease in murine experimental systems and in humans. It also explores the role that in vivo-generated apoptotic cells could have in the beneficial effects of extracorporeal photopheresis, donor-specific transfusion, and tolerogenic DC-based therapies in transplantation
Revolution, Romanticism and the Long Nineteenth Century
In order to consider the future of Victorian literary studies within the long nineteenth century, we must go back to that earlier “period” of the nineteenth century, and the French Revolution of 1789. Drawing on the aesthetic and political innovations of 1790s women's writings, this essay argues that we need to reconceive of nineteenth-century literary studies beyond the period boundaries of Romantic and Victorian. The sexualization of revolutionary Terror, and particularly of Robespierre, in Romantic-era writings by women like Helen Maria Williams, Mary Robinson and Fanny Burney, offers surprising precedents for the feminization of Terror associated with the retrospectives of Victorian writers like Carlyle and Dickens. In this respect, and given many other aesthetic continuities (for example, the crossgender and cross-period appeal of the “poetess” figure), the “Victorian period” appears increasingly unsatisfactory when compared to the merits of a long nineteenth-century model for literary studies
