The envelope of the power spectra of over a thousand \delta Scuti stars. The - scaling relation
CoRoT and Kepler high-precision photometric data allowed the detection and
characterization of the oscillation parameters in stars other than the Sun.
Moreover, thanks to the scaling relations, it is possible to estimate masses
and radii for thousands of solar-type oscillating stars. Recently, a \Delta\nu
- \rho relation has been found for \delta Scuti stars. Now, analyzing several
hundreds of this kind of stars observed with CoRoT and Kepler, we present an
empiric relation between their frequency at maximum power of their oscillation
spectra and their effective temperature. Such a relation can be explained with
the help of the \kappa-mechanism and the observed dispersion of the residuals
is compatible with they being caused by the gravity-darkening effect
Self-Organization Promotes the Evolution of Cooperation with Cultural Propagation
In this paper three computational models for the study of the evolution of
cooperation under cultural propagation are studied: Kin Selection, Direct
Reciprocity and Indirect Reciprocity. Two analyzes are reported, one comparing
their behavior between them and a second one identifying the impact that
different parameters have in the model dynamics. The results of these analyzes
illustrate how game transitions may occur depending of some parameters within
the models and also explain how agents adapt to these transitions by
individually choosing their attachment to a cooperative attitude. These
parameters regulate how cooperation can self-organize under different
circumstances. The emergence of the evolution of cooperation as a result of the
agent's adapting processes is also discussed
AYNEC: All you need for evaluating completion techniques in knowledge graphs
The popularity of knowledge graphs has led to the development of techniques to refine them and increase their quality. One of the main refinement tasks is completion (also known as link prediction for knowledge graphs), which seeks to add missing triples to the graph, usually by classifying potential ones as true or false. While there is a wide variety of graph completion techniques, there is no standard evaluation setup, so each proposal is evaluated using different datasets and metrics. In this paper we present AYNEC, a suite for the evaluation of knowledge graph completion techniques that covers the entire evaluation workflow. It includes a customisable tool for the generation of datasets with multiple variation points related to the preprocessing of graphs, the splitting into training and testing examples, and the generation of negative examples. AYNEC also provides a visual summary of the graph and the optional exportation of the datasets in an open format for their visualisation. We use AYNEC to generate a library of datasets ready to use for evaluation purposes based on several popular knowledge graphs. Finally, it includes a tool that computes relevant metrics and uses significance tests to compare each pair of techniques. Numerical solution of random differential models
This paper deals with the construction of a numerical solution of random initial value problems by means of a random improved Euler method. Conditions for the mean square convergence of the proposed method are established. Evidence of amplitude modulation due to Resonant Mode Coupling in the delta Scuti star KIC5892969
A study of the star KIC5892969 observed by the Kepler satellite is presented.
Its three highest amplitude modes present a strong amplitude modulation. The
aim of this work is to investigate amplitude variations in this star and their
possible cause. Using the 4 years-long observations available, we obtained the
frequency content of the full light curve. Then, we studied the amplitude and
phase variations with time using shorter time stamps. The results obtained are
compared with the predicted ones for resonant mode coupling of an unstable mode
with lower frequency stable modes. Our conclusion is that resonant mode
coupling is consistent as an amplitude limitation mechanism in several modes of
KIC5892969 and we discuss to which extent it might play an important role for
other delta Scuti stars
