Transmedia Archaeology: audiences participation on the expansion of the World War II narratives (case Band of Brothers)
This document aims to prove that it is possible (and perhaps necessary) address research about transmedia in terms of a logic that seeks, in the narratives and stories (past and present), significant aspects of communication processes focused on participation. It has by purpose, also, to move the research interest from the what to the when, to prove that transmediality in the story depends not only on its narrative construction, but on a whole organization of elements and resources which are a set of functions that the transmedia narrative acquired from its significance, appropriation and expansion. In this paper, a triple joint about transmedia is worked: 1) the historical dimension, 2) the narrative dimension and 3) the relationship between the reception and the participation in which is described and analyzed the fictional expansion of stories of the World War II (taking as emblem the case of Band of Brothers). It is worked, from a critical perspective, the idea and possibility of a Transmedia Archaeology that allows to expand the limits (and uses) of the Transmedia Storytelling concept, beyond the emblematic cases of the current audiovisual popular culture. With the premise that the reception has never been completely passive by the audience, is introduced the possibility of a kind of reception-participation oriented to the creation of user-generated content, which become visible in transmedia narrative universes is the past, and can be fictional or not
The ecology of resilience learning in ubiquitous environments to adverse situations
Primary education in Mexico is facing a growing set of challenges that the government has tried to counteract through the use of communication technologies (ICT) in formal education. While these efforts provide support for students and educators, there remains a need for a renewed and contextualized awareness that will re-conceptualize the adverse experiences of students and the importance of resilience in the context of the learning environment. The objective of this document is to give an account of the learning acquired by nine telesecondary students in a rural area of Hidalgo and the student’s benefits of building awareness about the ecology of learning. The paper highlights the process of re-envisioning their experiences that emerged from the various points of views shared in discussion. The study was triangulated by quantitative and qualitative phenomenological and hermeneutical analyses. It was organized into three stages and employed a survey, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and use of the Google-Classroom platform. The hermeneutical analysis of autobiographies and the use of technological resources enhanced the personal analysis of the experiences of the participants. These experiences generated learning that may often be invisible in formal education but can empower critical thinking, collaboration and autonomy of students to become aware of their learning and the scope of their social contribution

This text has as main objective to reflect and discuss the notion of transmedia storytelling . Review the history of the concept is made and is distinguished from other similar. A characterization of when a cultural product can be considered transmedia and when not. A review is conducted at the main theoretical contributions that make this concept clear. Wonder when is transmedia and not what, implies that the analysis assumes a historical - evolutionary dimension of the stories and see the ways that are incorporated into the processes of meaning by the audience
Cooperative Learning in the Implementation of Teaching Chemistry (Didactic Instrumentation) in Engineering in México
AbstractIn engineering you think of chemistry as a difficult and boring subject. Some professors who are teaching it, have seen apathy and lack of interest in the students. This paper presents some findings of an investigation done which allowed to listen to the voice of 250 Mexican students regarding the usefulness of cooperative learning in chemistry. An exploratory-descriptive methodology was applied, together with a pretest and a post-test. By implementing the Cooperative Learning, the importance of the positive interdependence for critical thinking was appraised and a move away was detected from the theoretical content and meaning of the everyday context of the students
Transcriptome (ESTs) of Avocado “Native” Mexicano Early Seed Development Shows Abundance of Regulatory, Antioxidant and Defense Genes
Avocado native “Mexicano” (Persea americana var drymifolia) has been a really important species in agricultural and indigenous medicine. In the agricultural world, it has been the germplasm source for the generation of economically important cultivars like Hass and it is the main source of rootstocks for the world production of Hass avocado fruit. In spite of its importance, little is known about the molecular network of seed-fruit development. The aim of this work was to know the expressed genes (ESTs) during the early avocado native “Mexicano” seed development. Using total RNA we constructed cDNA libraries of fourth months seed development, sequencing, assembling and bioinformatic analysis was made. For validation, a semi-quantitative PCR experiments with the most abundant genes were made. About 5005 ESTs from the 5’ representing 1653 possible unigenes were isolated. After assembling process, we have 171 genes that are closely related to Nelumbo nucifera sequences. The transcriptome is dominating by one bHLH transcription factor, three metallothioneins and snakin, suggesting its main role in seed development. Until now, there are no molecular studies in avocado seed development
