    Get PDF
The idea of master data and master data management (MDM) evolved from the increased necessities of enterprises for a more efficient and effective data management, requiring unification and integration of enterprise-wide data from multiple systems. In order to do that, many companies are considering MDM solutions, which automate data integration across various systems and applications. The paper aims to establish the correct position and role of the MDM in the enterprise IT (Information Technology) systems and to identify the main approaches, trends and solutions in the emergent area of enterprise MDM.data management, enterprise

About Space and Time Dimensions of Enterprise Data

Time and space are discussed as main dimensions of the information and, consequently, of the different kinds of enterprise data. Some theoretical approaches on spatiotemporal reasoning are considered and, based on it, a few practical consequences are identified, especially for the enterprise data warehouse and data marts. The final part investigates the main characteristics of temporal object models.enterprise data, enterprise application, space dimension, time dimension, spatiotemporal reasoning, temporal object model.

History and Point in Time in Enterprise Applications

First part points out the main differences between temporal and non-temporal databases. In the second part, based on identification of the three main categories of time involved in database applications: user-defined time, valid time and transaction time, some relevant solutions for their implementation are discussed, mainly from the point of view of database organization and data access level of enterprise applications. The final part is dedicated to the influences of historical data in the business logic and presentation levels of enterprise applications and in application services, as security, workflow, reporting

Influence of Implemented Courseware on Students Knowledge Acquirement

    Get PDF
This paper presents the implementation of the courseware stages developed for an economic faculty with teaching in foreign languages with learning on campus through an assisted instruction approach based on a collaborative platform. The implementation of the conceptualization, construction and dialogue stages on the university platform dedicated to students in the first year is explained. We analyze the correlation between the accesses of didactic technologies on the educational platform and the results obtained at the final exam in order to see how the implementation of courseware technologies influenced the knowledge acquirement by students

The world has entered the Knowledge Age. Information Technology is gradually turning the world into an Information Highway Network. The development of technology has greatly accelerated the international flow of information, capital and commodities and speeded the growth of economic integration. At the same time, the cycle of technological development and commercialization is becoming shorter and shorter [Zhouying, 1999]. Information technology is bringing rapid and profound changes to higher education, as it has to virtually every process in our society. Productivity often suffers because is difficult and timeconsuming to conduct a team effort. A portal solution base on SharePoint Portal Server can greatly facilitate the process of bringing knowledge teachers together as a team to achieve educational goals by providing a single point to access: automated essential day-to-day email communication, management of contacts, calendars, and instant messages, shared facilities to allow small teams of teachers to contribute to team and project-focused Web site, track tasks and events, shortened web-publishing cycles by linking collaboration and publishing processes.colaborative platforms, web courses, online evaluation
