Unified constitutive equations to describe elastoplastic and damage behavior of an X100 linepipe steel
International audienceThe deformation and fracture of the high strength steel which is used to fabricate grade X100 steel pipe were investigated at room temperature, on plate and pipe. Anisotropic behaviour was characterized by using tensile tests conducted along different directions. The fracture toughness of plate and pipe materials are compared using compact tension (CT) and Charpy V-notched tests. In both cases, these materials give rise to good fracture properties. The aim of the present study is to establish unified constitutive equations able to describe the elastoplastic and damage behavior of one X100 linepipe steel. The model is then used to simulate three point bending and compact tension tests
Although Breton has borrowed extensively from French for several centuries, there are not many Breton words adopted by this language. Similarly, Breton slang has borrowed quite extensively from French, not only from ancient and modern French, or from dialectal French, but also from slang French, although the number of Breton words in the latter is infinitesimal. However, some people are tempted to explain many slang French words too easily by the Breton language. In this paper, we will study a number of them that are proven to come from Breton
Beyond church and court: city musicians and music in Renaissance Valladolid
Texte disponible mis en page sur le site de l'Ă©diteur : http://em.oxfordjournals.org/content/37/3.tocInternational audienceThe study of urban music has often been focused on court or church studies and, as a result, the analysis of music and music-making has been largely limited to these two particular environments. The 'new' vision proposed in the research presented here seeks, however, to examine the place that music occupied in the whole social system, following natural laws of association and dissociation. The role played by music in this new broader context can thus be integrated into what French historiographers have called the 'history of representations', a vision associated with private or public performances and their aesthetics. As musicologists, we are seeking to broaden our knowledge in this area by contributing to present-day interest in the musicians and music-makers in the everyday life of a Spanish town, telling the story of 'those without history'. The present article seeks to offer a documentary view of civilian life in 16th-century Valladolid: this will lead us to examine how music melted into the urban tissue in order to understand more about the way music was performed, taught, sold and transmitted

I will discuss here how to improve the academic level and how to diversify the teaching and research of anthropology. Given that this is an inductive science, I have chosen to talk about the process that took place in Mexico between 1965-1980. The main character of this story is Angel Palerm who, just in order to improve the academic level, was compelled to destroy the monopoly that the Escuela Nacional de AntropologĂa had in this country, by directly organizing an anthropological syllabus first at the Universidad Iberoamericana and then at the Universidad Metropolitana. Those syllabus had three purposes: first, improving the theoretical training of teachers, by engaging foreign teachers and sending scholarship holders abroad; second, reorganizing pedagogical methods; and third, training students for their future research and professional task, by introducing fieldwork in the first year of their studies. As I shall show, some problems turned up, particularly of corporate nature.
