Electrical hazards to firefighters during wildfire ground operations

Niniejsze opracowanie porusza problematykę zagrożenia porażeniem prądem elektrycznym strażaków podczas działań ratowniczo-gaśniczych prowadzonych na terenach leśnych.Fire operations during wildfires are related to various hazards fire fighters face. One of them is electric shock risk. It is connected with high – tension transmission lines, kilometers of which were built in the forest. Although transmission lines are constantly maintained, many of them were build in 60s and 70s, what increases fault probability. Moreover, water is the cheapest and the most commonly used extinguishing agent, though, in some conditions, during fire operations, it may conduct electricity. Another danger is short – circuit, the result of e.g. insulator’s fault, causing electrical current ground gradient. Hence, firefighter walking next to the transmission tower is exposed to the phenomenon called step potential. The article proposes preventive measures in purpose to improve firefighters’ safety during wildfire operations

Przedstawiono sposób wyznaczenia testu diagnostycznego metodą macierzy boolowskich. Zaprezentowano przykład wykorzystania testu diagnostycznego stworzonego metodą macierzy boolowskiej. Przedstawiono sposób tworzenia grafów wiązań i równań stanu, które mogą być narzędziem oceny stanu technicznego urządzeń.This paper presents basic information on the structure of diagnostic tests used for the assessment of the technical state of parts and groups of technical systems. The Boolean matrix method is also demonstrated. The construction of bond graphs and state equations, which can be tools for the assessment of technical condition of machines has been presented

Experimental data concerning chosen voltage detectors for emergency responders was presented.Artykuł omawia zagrożenie porażenia prądem elektrycznym strażaków. Podejmowany jest problem spełnienia prawnego obowiązku wyposażenia każdej jednostki ratowniczo-gaśniczej w detektor napięcia, wobec braku szczegółowych wymogów. Prezentowane są wyniki badań dwóch dostępnych na rynku urządzeń oraz pożądane cechy detektora, który gwarantowałby pełne bezpieczeństwo porażeniowe strażakom biorącym udział w działaniach ratowniczo-gaśniczych

Application of Computer Code FDS for Fire Modelling in The Cable Tunnel

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości zastosowania polowego model pożaru do oceny rozwoju środowiska pożarowego w tunelu kablowym.A few computer simulations of the fire development in the cable tunnel were carried out. The fire computer program FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator) based on computer dynamics of fluids CFD was used for the simulation. Results of numerical calculations are pointing at the insufficient fire ventilation of the standard cable tunnel
