In addition, young people experience an acute shortage of knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for successful adaptation to the constant changes in the content, structure of activities and professions, to build successful professional strategies and life trajectories in the competitive fields of βadultβ working life. This causes a significant part of young employees the feeling of non-competitiveness. The State University of New York developed the conceptual approaches and specific methods of organization of the original project-oriented courses on self-management, self-marketing, individual skills(competencies) management. These courses provide a comprehensive framework for the management of the subject of their professional skills in the competitive environment of the labour market and contribute to the formation of the youth long-term competitive advantages and sustainable competitiveness in the development of professional career. Conceptual approaches, methods of development and practical experience of SUNY specialists β organization of project-oriented courses for students and young people working in self-management can be effectively adapted and applied to the Russian conditions
