Nomenclature of the hydrotalcite supergroup: Natural layered double hydroxides
Layered double hydroxide (LDH) compounds are characterized by structures in which layers with a brucite-like structure carry a net positive charge, usually due to the partial substitution of trivalent octahedrally coordinated cations for divalent cations, giving a general layer formula [( M 2+ 1-x M 3+ x )(OH)2] x +. This positive charge is balanced by anions which are intercalated between the layers. Intercalated molecular water typically provides hydrogen bonding between the brucite layers. In addition to synthetic compounds, some of which have significant industrial applications, more than 40 mineral species conform to this description. Hydrotalcite, Mg6Al2(OH) 16[CO3]•4H2O, as the longest-known example, is the archetype of this supergroup of minerals. We review the history, chemistry, crystal structure, polytypic variation and status of all hydrotalcite-supergroup species reported to date. The dominant divalent cations, M 2+, that have been reported in hydrotalcite supergroup minerals are Mg, Ca, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu and Zn; the dominant trivalent cations, M 3+, are Al, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni. The most common intercalated anions are (CO3)2-, (SO4)2- and Cl -; and OH-, S2- and [Sb(OH)6] - have also been reported. Some species contain intercalated cationic or neutral complexes such as [Na(H2O)6]+ or [MgSO4]0. We define eight groups within the supergroup on the basis of a combination of criteria. These are (1) the hydrotalcite group, with M 2+:M 3+ = 3:1 (layer spacing ∼7.8 Å); (2) the quintinite group, with M 2+:M 3+ = 2:1 (layer spacing ∼7.8 Å); (3) the fougèrite group, with M 2+ = Fe2+, M 3+ = Fe3+ in a range of ratios, and with O2- replacing OH- in the brucite module to maintain charge balance (layer spacing ∼7.8 Å); (4) the woodwardite group, with variable M 2+:M 3+ and interlayer [SO4] 2-, leading to an expanded layer spacing of ∼8.9 Å; (5) the cualstibite group, with interlayer [Sb(OH)6]- and a layer spacing of ∼9.7 Å; (6) the glaucocerinite group, with interlayer [SO4]2- as in the woodwardite group, and with additional interlayer H2O molecules that further expand the layer spacing to ∼11 Å; (7) the wermlandite group, with a layer spacing of ∼11 Å, in which cationic complexes occur with anions between the brucite-like layers; and (8) the hydrocalumite group, with M 2+ = Ca2+ and M 3+ = Al, which contains brucite-like layers in which the Ca:Al ratio is 2:1 and the large cation, Ca2+, is coordinated to a seventh ligand of 'interlayer' water. The principal mineral status changes are as follows. (1) The names manasseite, sjögrenite and barbertonite are discredited; these minerals are the 2H polytypes of hydrotalcite, pyroaurite and stichtite, respectively. Cyanophyllite is discredited as it is the 1M polytype of cualstibite. (2) The mineral formerly described as fougèrite has been found to be an intimate intergrowth of two phases with distinct Fe 2+:Fe3+ ratios. The phase with Fe2+:Fe 3+ = 2:1 retains the name fougèrite; that with Fe 2+:Fe3+ = 1:2 is defined as the new species trébeurdenite. (3) The new minerals omsite (IMA2012-025), Ni 2Fe3+(OH)6[Sb(OH)6], and mössbauerite (IMA2012-049), Fe3+ 6O 4(OH)8[CO3]•3H2O, which are both in the hydrotalcite supergroup are included in the discussion. (4) Jamborite, carrboydite, zincaluminite, motukoreaite, natroglaucocerinite, brugnatellite and muskoxite are identified as questionable species which need further investigation in order to verify their structure and composition. (5) The ranges of compositions currently ascribed to motukoreaite and muskoxite may each represent more than one species. The same applies to the approved species hydrowoodwardite and hydrocalumite. (6) Several unnamed minerals have been reported which are likely to represent additional species within the supergroup. This report has been approved by the Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification (CNMNC) of the International Mineralogical Association, voting proposal 12-B. We also propose a compact notation for identifying synthetic LDH phases, for use by chemists as a preferred alternative to the current widespread misuse of mineral names. © 2012 Mineralogical Society.Fil: Mills, S.J.. The study aims to knowing the marketing of potatoes in Makaaruyen Village, Modoinding Sub District. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through a list of qusions that had been provided, while secondary data obtained from BP3K office Modoinding district and village office Makaaruyen Modoinding district. Sampling method is done by simple random sampling for sample of farmers and snowball sampling method for marketing agencies, where the simple is obtained based on information from the first respondent then traced to the next respondent. Data is presented in numerical form and analyzed quantitatively. The consept of measurement of variables used are costs consisting of packing, sortir fees, freight costs, loading and unloading costs, depreciation costs and retribution fees. The research result showed that there was five channel of potatoes in Makaaruyen village, Modoinding Sub District. The marketing institutions involved include village collecting, sub district collecting, sub district traders, out of town merchants and retailers. Marketing activities in the Makaaruyen Village of the Modoinding Sub District is an activity that begins with partners and cooperation between farmers and marketing agencies involved in potato marketing activities

Q^2 Evolution of Generalized Baldin Sum Rule for the Proton
The generalized Baldin sum rule for virtual photon scattering, the
unpolarized analogy of the generalized Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn integral, provides
an important way to investigate the transition between perturbative QCD and
hadronic descriptions of nucleon structure. This sum rule requires integration
of the nucleon structure function F_1, which until recently had not been
measured at low Q^2 and large x, i.e. in the nucleon resonance region. This
work uses new data from inclusive electron-proton scattering in the resonance
region obtained at Jefferson Lab, in combination with SLAC deep inelastic
scattering data, to present first precision measurements of the generalized
Baldin integral for the proton in the Q^2 range of 0.3 to 4.0 GeV^2.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, one table; text added, one figure replace
Evaluasi Balok Dan Kolom Pada Rumah Sederhana
Pembangunan rumah tinggal sederhana yang cepat dan praktis tanpa memeperhatikan kualitas struktur atau dalam perencanaannya tidak berdasarkan standar/peraturan yang berlaku sangat beresiko bagi penghuninya. Penting untuk memperhatikan kualitas struktur sebagai penopang beban bangunan dan gaya dari luar, seperti gempa. Apalagi Indonesia merupakan Negara yang rawan terhadap resiko gempa baik dalam intensitas sedang maupun berat. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap kinerja dari rumah tinggal sederhana apabila terjadi gempa serta mengevaluasi komponen–komponen strukturnya dalam hal ini balok dan kolom. Evaluasi kinerja bangunan diperoleh melalui metode analisis statik pushover dengan Program SAP 2000. Analisis ini berupa peningkatan beban secara berangsur–angsur sampai bangunan mencapai titik keruntuhan. Analisis pushover menghasilkan kurva pushover yang menunjukan target perpindahan yang akan menentukan kinerja bangunan. Selanjutnya dicek ulang untuk komponen struktur apakah cukup aman menahan beban yang bekerja. Pengecekan dalam bentuk redesain dimensi tulangan sampai didapat dimensi tulangan baru kemudian dibandingkan dengan tulangan terpasang di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rumah tinggal yang diteliti berada pada kondisi damage control yang artinya masih dalam kondisi aman untuk dihuni. Sedangkan untuk pengecekan balok dan kolom diperoleh dimensi tulangan yang lebih kecil daripada tulangan terpasang. Artinya tulangan terpasang di lapangan aman untuk digunakan namun masih bisa diperkecil agar lebih ekonomis tanpa mengurangi nilai keamanannya
Uncertainties in determining parton distributions at large x
We critically examine uncertainties in parton distribution functions (PDFs)
at large x arising from nuclear effects in deuterium F2 structure function
data. Within a global PDF analysis, we assess the impact on the PDFs from
uncertainties in the deuteron wave function at short distances and nucleon
off-shell effects, the use of relativistic kinematics, as well as the use of
less a restrictive parametrization of the d/u ratio. We find that in particular
the d-quark and gluon PDFs vary significantly with the choice of nuclear model.
We highlight the impact of these uncertainties on the determination of the
neutron structure function, and on W boson production and parton luminosity at
the Tevatron and the LHC. Finally, we discuss prospects for new measurements
sensitive to the d-quark and gluon distributions but insensitive to nuclear

Star Formation in the Field and Clusters of NGC 5253
We investigate the star formation history of both the bright star clusters
and the diffuse `field star' population in the dwarf starburst galaxy NGC 5253
using STIS longslit ultraviolet spectroscopy. Our slit covers a physical area
of 370 x 1.6 pc and includes 8 apparent clusters and several inter-cluster
regions of diffuse light which we take to be the field. The diffuse light
spectrum lacks the strong O-star wind features which are clearly visible in
spectra of the brightest clusters. This discrepancy provides compelling
evidence that the diffuse light is not reflected light from nearby clusters,
but originates in a UV-bright field star population, and it raises the issue of
whether the star formation process may be operating differently in the field
than in clusters. We compare our spectra to STARBURST99 evolutionary synthesis
models which incorporate a new low metallicity atlas of O-star spectra. We
favor a scenario which accounts for the paucity of O-stars in the field without
requiring the field to have a different IMF than the clusters: stellar clusters
form continuously and then dissolve on ~10 Myr timescales and disperse their
remaining stars into the field. We consider the probable contribution of an
O-star deficient field population to the spatially unresolved spectra of high

A Review of Target Mass Corrections
With recent advances in the precision of inclusive lepton--nuclear scattering
experiments, it has become apparent that comparable improvements are needed in
the accuracy of the theoretical analysis tools. In particular, when extracting
parton distribution functions in the large-x region, it is crucial to correct
the data for effects associated with the nonzero mass of the target. We present
here a comprehensive review of these target mass corrections (TMC) to structure
functions data, summarizing the relevant formulas for TMCs in electromagnetic
and weak processes. We include a full analysis of both hadronic and partonic
masses, and trace how these effects appear in the operator product expansion
and the factorized parton model formalism, as well as their limitations when
applied to data in the x->1 limit. We evaluate the numerical effects of TMCs on
various structure functions, and compare fits to data with and without these

Unpolarized structure functions at Jefferson Lab
Over the past decade measurements of unpolarized structure functions at
Jefferson Lab with unprecedented precision have significantly advanced our
knowledge of nucleon structure. These have for the first time allowed
quantitative tests of the phenomenon of quark-hadron duality, and provided a
deeper understanding of the transition from hadron to quark degrees of freedom
in inclusive scattering. Dedicated Rosenbluth-separation experiments have
yielded high-precision transverse and longitudinal structure functions in
regions previously unexplored, and new techniques have enabled the first
glimpses of the structure of the free neutron, without contamination from

Relationships between Health Behaviors and HPV Vaccine Receipt and Intentions among Undergraduate Women
poster abstractThe human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine represents an important step in reducing cervical cancer incidence and mortality. In recent years, this vaccine has been routinely recommended for females under the age of 26; however, only one-third of adolescent females have initiated the 3-shot HPV vaccine series. Although a number of studies have identified predictors of HPV vaccination, few have examined its correlations with other health behaviors. Evidence suggests that health-enhancing behaviors (e.g., healthy diet, physical activity) tend to cluster together. In this study, we examined the relationships between health behaviors and HPV vaccine receipt and intentions among undergraduate women at IUPUI. Participants (N=286) completed an internet-based survey that included measures of health behaviors (e.g., diet and exercise, vaccination history, recent physical examination) as well as questions regarding HPV vaccine receipt and intentions (i.e., likelihood of being vaccinated). Participants were, on average, 19 years old (SD=1.9). The majority were Caucasian (75%), single (90%), sexually active (65%), and recipients of the HPV vaccine (58%). Results showed significant relationships between HPV vaccine receipt and the receipt of other medical care, including a flu shot in the past year (χ2(1, N=260)=3.88, p<.05), a Pap smear in the past three years (χ2(1, N=263)=6.49, p<.05), and a recent dental visit (r=.15, p<.05). Among those who had not received the HPV vaccine, increased HPV vaccine intentions were associated with the receipt of the flu shot in the past year (r=.19, p<.05) and the receipt of HIV testing (r=.19, p<.05). However, HPV vaccine receipt and intentions were not significantly related to engagement in any of the other health behaviors (e.g., diet and exercise). Findings suggest that HPV vaccine uptake and intentions to receive the vaccine are associated with the receipt of other preventative medical care among female undergraduates
