Communication, coordination and networks
We study experimentally how the network structure and length of pre-play communication affect behavior and outcome in a multi-player coordination game with
conflicting preferences. Network structure matters but the interaction between network and time effects is more subtle. Under each time treatment, substantial variations are observed in both the rate of coordination and distribution of coordinated outcomes across networks. But, increasing the communication length improves both efficiency and equity of coordination. In all treatments, coordination is mostly explained by convergence in communication. We also identify behaviors that explain
variations in the distribution of coordinated outcomes both within and across networks
Z_{12-I} Orbifold Compactification toward SUSY Standard Model
We explain the orbifold compactification in string models and present a
Z_{12-I} orbifold compactification toward supersymmetric standard models. We
also point out an effective R-parity from this string construction. The VEVs of

Low-frequency method for magnetothermopower and Nernst effect measurements on single crystal samples at low temperatures and high magnetic fields
We describe an AC method for the measurement of the longitudinal (Sxx) and
transverse (Sxy, i.e. Nernst) thermopower of mm-size single crystal samples at
low temperatures (T30 T). A low-frequency (33
mHz) heating method is used to increase the resolution, and to determine the
temperature gradient reliably in high magnetic fields. Samples are mounted
between two thermal blocks which are heated by a sinusoidal frequency f0 with a
p/2 phase difference. The phase difference between two heater currents gives a
temperature gradient at 2f0. The corresponding thermopower and Nernst effect
signals are extracted by using a digital signal processing method due. An
important component of the method involves a superconducting link, YBa2Cu3O7+d
(YBCO), which is mounted in parallel with sample to remove the background
magnetothermopower of the lead wires. The method is demonstrated for the quasi
two-dimensional organic conductor a-(BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4, which exhibits a
complex, magnetic field dependent ground state above 22.5 T at low

The definability criterions for convex projective polyhedral reflection groups
Following Vinberg, we find the criterions for a subgroup generated by
reflections \Gamma \subset \SL^{\pm}(n+1,\mathbb{R}) and its finite-index
subgroups to be definable over where is an integrally
closed Noetherian ring in the field . We apply the criterions for
groups generated by reflections that act cocompactly on irreducible properly
convex open subdomains of the -dimensional projective sphere. This gives a
method for constructing injective group homomorphisms from such Coxeter groups
to \SL^{\pm}(n+1,\mathbb{Z}). Finally we provide some examples of
\SL^{\pm}(n+1,\mathbb{Z})-representations of such Coxeter groups. In
particular, we consider simplicial reflection groups that are isomorphic to
hyperbolic simplicial groups and classify all the conjugacy classes of the
reflection subgroups in \SL^{\pm}(n+1,\mathbb{R}) that are definable over
