Weak boson fusion production of supersymmetric particles at the LHC
We present a complete calculation of weak boson fusion production of
colorless supersymmetric particles at the LHC, using the new matrix element
generator SUSY-MadGraph. The cross sections are small, generally at the
attobarn level, with a few notable exceptions which might provide additional
supersymmetric parameter measurements. We discuss in detail how to consistently
define supersymmetric weak couplings to preserve unitarity of weak gauge boson
scattering amplitudes to fermions, and derive sum rules for weak supersymmetric
couplings.Comment: 24 p., 3 fig., 9 tab., published in PRD; numbers in Table IV

Abelian Dominance in Wilson Loops
It has been conjectured that the Abelian projection of QCD is responsible for
the confinement of color. Using a gauge independent definition of the Abelian
projection which does {\it not} employ any gauge fixing, we provide a strong
evidence for the Abelian dominance in Wilson loop integral. In specific we
prove that the gauge potential which contributes to the Wilson loop integral is
precisely the one restricted by the Abelian projection.Comment: 4 pages, no figure, revtex. Phys. Rev. D in pres
BRST symmetry of SU(2) Yang-Mills theory in Cho--Faddeev--Niemi decomposition
We determine the nilpotent BRST and anti-BRST transformations for the
Cho--Faddeev-Niemi variables for the SU(2) Yang-Mills theory based on the new
interpretation given in the previous paper of the Cho--Faddeev-Niemi
decomposition. This gives a firm ground for performing the BRST quantization of
the Yang--Mills theory written in terms of the Cho--Faddeev-Niemi variables. We
propose also a modified version of the new Maximal Abelian gauge which could
play an important role in the reduction to the original Yang-Mills theory.Comment: 11 pages, no figure; Introduction improved, 3 references adde
Accuracy and Precision of Occlusal Contacts of Stereolithographic Casts Mounted by Digital Interocclusal Registrations
Statement of problem Little peer-reviewed information is available regarding the accuracy and precision of the occlusal contact reproduction of digitally mounted stereolithographic casts. Purpose The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the accuracy and precision of occlusal contacts among stereolithographic casts mounted by digital occlusal registrations. Material and methods Four complete anatomic dentoforms were arbitrarily mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator in maximal intercuspal position and served as the 4 different simulated patients (SP). A total of 60 digital impressions and digital interocclusal registrations were made with a digital intraoral scanner to fabricate 15 sets of mounted stereolithographic (SLA) definitive casts for each dentoform. After receiving a total of 60 SLA casts, polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) interocclusal records were made for each set. The occlusal contacts for each set of SLA casts were measured by recording the amount of light transmitted through the interocclusal records. To evaluate the accuracy between the SP and their respective SLA casts, the areas of actual contact (AC) and near contact (NC) were calculated. For precision analysis, the coefficient of variation (CoV) was used. The data was analyzed with t tests for accuracy and the McKay and Vangel test for precision (α=.05). Results
The accuracy analysis showed a statistically significant difference between the SP and the SLA cast of each dentoform (PPP Conclusions For the accuracy evaluation, statistically significant differences were found between the occlusal contacts of all digitally mounted SLA casts groups, with an increase in AC values and a decrease in NC values. For the precision assessment, the CoV values of the AC and NC showed the digitally articulated cast’s inability to reproduce the uniform occlusal contacts
Color Reflection Invariance and Monopole Condensation in QCD
We review the quantum instability of the Savvidy-Nielsen-Olesen (SNO) vacuum
of the one-loop effective action of SU(2) QCD, and point out a critical defect
in the calculation of the functional determinant of the gluon loop in the SNO
effective action. We prove that the gauge invariance, in particular the color
reflection invariance, exclude the unstable tachyonic modes from the gluon loop
integral. This guarantees the stability of the magnetic condensation in QCD.Comment: 28 pages, 3 figures, JHEP styl
Lagrangian Floer superpotentials and crepant resolutions for toric orbifolds
We investigate the relationship between the Lagrangian Floer superpotentials
for a toric orbifold and its toric crepant resolutions. More specifically, we
study an open string version of the crepant resolution conjecture (CRC) which
states that the Lagrangian Floer superpotential of a Gorenstein toric orbifold
and that of its toric crepant resolution coincide after
analytic continuation of quantum parameters and a change of variables. Relating
this conjecture with the closed CRC, we find that the change of variable
formula which appears in closed CRC can be explained by relations between open
(orbifold) Gromov-Witten invariants. We also discover a geometric explanation
(in terms of virtual counting of stable orbi-discs) for the specialization of
quantum parameters to roots of unity which appears in Y. Ruan's original CRC
["The cohomology ring of crepant resolutions of orbifolds", Gromov-Witten
theory of spin curves and orbifolds, 117-126, Contemp. Math., 403, Amer. Math.
Soc., Providence, RI, 2006]. We prove the open CRC for the weighted projective
spaces using an equality between open
and closed orbifold Gromov-Witten invariants. Along the way, we also prove an
open mirror theorem for these toric orbifolds.Comment: 48 pages, 1 figure; v2: references added and updated, final version,

Polarization of Upsilon(nS) at the Tevatron
The polarization of inclusive Upsilon(nS) at the Fermilab Tevatron is
calculated within the nonrelativistic QCD factorization framework. We use a
recent determination of the NRQCD matrix elements from fitting the CDF data on
bottomonium production from Run IB of the Tevatron. The result for the
polarization of Upsilon(1S) integrated over the transverse momentum bin 8 < p_T
< 20 GeV is consistent with a recent measurement by the CDF Collaboration. The
transverse polarization of Upsilon(1S) is predicted to increase steadily for
p_T greater than about 10 GeV. The Upsilon(2S) and Upsilon(3S) are predicted to
have significantly larger transverse polarizations than Upsilon(1S).Comment: 15 pages, 3 figure
