Because the Citshwa language is part of the set of Bantu languages in which the structure of the nominal classes was reconstructed from Proto-Bantu, we first make a historical approach to the theme to, among other aspects, know how the process of locativization in Bantu languages is carried out. From this analysis, we recognize that in many Bantu languages, locativization is still carried out using locative prefixes (pa-, ku-, mu-), some languages have innovated not only the locativization strategy, but also locative morphemes in relation to Proto- Bantu as a result of the evolution of the phonetic-phonological structure. Citshwa is part of the languages that have innovated both the locativization strategy and the locative morphemes, adopting the suffixation of the locative morpheme -ini as a basic strategy instead of the prefixing of locative morphemes as happens in many Bantu languages. In some cases Citshwa presents some relic of locativization through ha- (* pa-), like relic of class 16 reconstructed from PB, but already lexicalized. During the posting of the locative morpheme in Citshwa, phonological processes were observed whose rules were objects of description and formalization to allow a clear understanding of the locativization phenomenon in this language. Capstone Project submitted to the Department of Engineering, Ashesi University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, May 2022Grain post-harvest losses due to deterioration during storage remains a prevalent challenge. The changes in environmental conditions if not monitored, can cause fluctuations in grain storage bins' temperature and humidity, leading to decay and infestation. Even though automatic grain monitoring systems have been developed they are not affordable. This project seeks to design an efficient and low-cost smart grain monitoring system to reduce unnecessary grain losses. To monitor grain conditions, the system employs temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide sensors. Furthermore, this system employs machine learning classification algorithms to predict grain quality status (good or bad) based on sensor readings. The project implements the system prototype with 2 sensor nodes that communicate to a gateway through HC-12 transceiver modules.Ashesi Universit

Evidenciando necessidade de mais estudosIntroduction: In the management of occupational neck pain in office workers, it is extremely relevant and important to find ways of preventive and/or curative interventions. Objective: To identify, in the literature, ways to intervene in the management of occupational neck pain in the office environment. Method: An integrative review was carried out on the bases of the Virtual Health Library and the National Library of Medicine; the descriptors were: occupational neck pain, management, prevention, treatment, using the Boolean operators “AND” and “OR”. Published between September 5, 2011 and September 3, 2021. Results: We found 3102 productions, of which 13 were included, 6 of which were from Asia (46.1%), half of them from Thailand; 3 from Europe (23%); 2 from the American continent (15.3%), 1 from Brazil and 2 from Oceania (15.3%). Interventions were observed in ten publications with office workers (76.9%), two with professors (15.3%) and one with nurses (7.6%). The most common interventions were: physical training, in six publications (46.15%); ergonomic modification, in two (15%); combination of physical training and ergonomic modification, in three (23%); combination of ergonomic modification and health promotion, in three (23%) and combination of postural change, walking and breaks, in five (38.4%) publications. Conclusions: Ergonomic intervention in the office environment reduces the intensity of neck pain, however, it is more effective combined with physical training and health promotion. As a limitation, there was a small sample and no studies were found in Africa. Evidencing the need for more studies

Journal of African Christian Biography: v. 8, no. 4 (Oct 2023) A quaterly publication of the Dictionary of African Christian Biography (www.DACB.org)

[This issue of the Journal of African Christian Biography highlights some of the entries in the DACB that profile participants in the twentieth-century ecumenical movement in southern Africa. The overwhelming impression one gets of this subject is that of gaps: there is urgent need for more entries that address the myriad ways in which African Christian leaders engaged the ecumenical movement as a network through which to build social capital during the critical period after the Second World War. As African nations became independent of European colonial control, church-educated leaders often acted as global spokesmen for postcolonial visions of society. They cultivated international support structures and led regional independence movements. Ecumenical networks played crucial roles in maintaining structures for education and peace-building in conflictive situations. Nelson Mandela himself, for example, attended Healdtown, a Methodist mission that became the largest high school in the country and educated many of the most important black nationalist leaders at mid century. The entries highlighted in this issue are the tip of the iceberg of what needs to be researched and written. This issue, then, appeals for scholars and church leaders to step up and to provide biographies of “ecumenists”—those who located their commitment to the Body of Christ in an international vision of peace, equality, and justice, in collaboration with other Christians from across Africa and around the world, as well as those who worked at the local level of cooperative church movements.
