    Get PDF
In today's competitive and rapidly changing economy, client expectations and desires constantly shift, raising the risk of supply chain interruption. To be effective in this circumstance, a business's supply chain must be resilient. Most enterprises in the world recognize that performance evaluation is necessary to achieve the end aim of developing a resilient supply chain. The purpose of this article is to identify several SCRM techniques and practices for enhancing an organization's overall operational resilience and performance. A systematic review of peer-reviewed journal publications published since 2010 was conducted. The literature review drew on various reputable databases, including Scopus, Web of science, Emerald insight, Sage journals, and Taylor and Francis. The findings reveal that most research has correlated supply chain resilience, SCRM practices, and firm performance. SCRM practices are frequently classified into four categories: identification, evaluation, mitigation, and monitoring. Lastly, the results may be used as guidance for future scholars conducting experimental data on SCRM, resilience, and success of the organization

In recent years, driven by low cost, many global supply chains have been used to realize global procurement and manufacturing chains. Obviously, supply chain integration is a practical means to be applied to various supply chain networks to improve supply chain performance. However, the global supply chain has been continuously interrupted by natural disasters, epidemics, and human error in the past few years. For example, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the blockade of the Suez Canal in 2021. These incidents have caused supply disruptions and factory shutdowns in global manufacturing and retail. With the expansion of supply chain integration, the interdependence between supply chain partners increases, and the vulnerability and risks of the supply chain also increase. Therefore, the dimensions of supply chain integration, namely internal integration and external integration, the relationship between them and their impact on business outcomes need to be further studied. The main purpose of the review is to put forward a conceptual framework of supply chain integration to study the relationship by collating the past literature

    Get PDF
The increasing concern about environmental and energy conservation leads industries to serve the sustainability development as one of important issues. Reverse logistics can manage product returns effectively and play an important role in achieving the sustainability goals of any organization. As a result, many companies have been paying close attention to reverse logistics and made it a strategic decision. Despite the fact that reverse logistics can significantly increase the organization's sustainability performance, there has been little research into the relationship between reverse logistics and sustainability performance. Thus far, few researchers have examined the impact of reverse logistics disposition decisions on the triple bottom line (TBL), which includes economic, environmental, and social performance. Thus, this paper aims to review the impact of reverse logistics on sustainable performance and examine which option of the disposition decision is more suitable for the sustainable performance. Also, content analysis was used to analyse the selected papers on reverse logistics and sustainability performance. Ultimately, this study concludes that the impact of reverse logistics on social aspect have been largely neglected. Also, this study suggests that future researchers should concentrate on the empirical studies on how each disposition option of reverse logistics may influence the sustainability performance

The reverse logistics (RL) concept has become increasingly popular due to the rising socio-environmental crisis, encompassing climate changes, pollutions and numerous health issues caused by pollutions. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis was conducted on RL to guide future research. This study utilised the VOSviewer software to conduct a bibliometric analysis on RL from 1995 to 2020. Precisely, 1146 papers were retrieved and analysed to identify the most prolific and prominent authors and journals, co-authorship, and co-occurrence. The co-authorship and co-occurrence analysis findings discovered that the United States of America (USA) leads RL-related article publications as the authors and institutions’ cooperation rate is high. ‘Reverse logistics’, ‘remanufacture’, and ‘waste management’ were the most critical keywords in the literature. The bibliometric analysis was undertaken to determine the trends in the RL field. The present research determined that the publication trend continuously increases and is forecasted to increase in the future constantly. The directions for RL and future studies were determined and demonstrated through the analysis

    Get PDF
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between Halal food certification (HFC) and business performance. This study argues that Halal food certificate implementation positively influences business performance. Design/methodology/approach: A total of 210 Halal certified food manufacturing companies in Malaysia participated in the study. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and were analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling technique. Findings: The study proved that HFC has a positive relationship with operational performance. Additionally, operational performance mediates the relationship between HFC and financial performance. Altogether, this signifies that Halal food certificate implementation positively influences business performance. Practical implications: By linking HFC and business performance, managers may be aware of the significant role of HFC in influencing operational and financial performance. It would entice more food companies to become Halal certified that opens up an opportunity to a lucrative Halal food industry. It also empirically justifies that a religion-based food certification has the ability to influence business performance, consistent with other established food standards such as ISO 22000 or HACCP. Originality/value: Although numerous studies have concentrated on well-established food certifications, the expanding Muslim population, rising demand for Halal food, and lucrative Halal food market have raised the attention on HFC research among academicians and practitioners. This research is able to highlight the importance of implementing HFC among food companies as it could potentially lead to superior business outcomes

The intention of this study is to explore the influence of supplier development on the sustainability performance as well as on the economic, social and environmental dimensions of a manufacturing organization. The research was done using multiple different sources of data collection, such as Scopus, Science Direct, Emerald, Sage, Wiley Online Library, Web of Science (WoS) and Proquest. According to the findings, supplier development has a positive effect on sustainability performance. The most influential and supportive correlations are between supplier development and sustainability environmental performance and between supplier development and sustainability social performance. As a result, the study's significant contributions are related to: a) the prevalence of a positive and influential relationship between supplier development and sustainability performance; b) proof of supplier development effect size on sustainability performance (combined effect size coefficient at r (0.438)); c) an evaluation of the gaps in the scientific literature assessing the impact of supplier development on organisational sustainability. Future research in this area may focus on meta analyses that incorporate moderating and mediating constructs on the relationship between supplier development and sustainability performance

AbstractThere has been a massive surge of interest in supply chain management (SCM) due to its innovation approach to business and competitive advantage. Large companies are well recognized the benefits of SCM, but small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are lagging behind in appreciating how integrated supply chain drives remarkable changes in business processes and work with positive results in better quality services, cost reduction and efficiency. Specifically, SMEs in Malaysia have insufficient knowledge on SCM and they underestimate the potential benefits of SCM. As SMEs is important growth engines in Malaysia, therefore, a great potential can be discovered to develop Malaysian SMEs through SCM. As such, this article includes a discussion of the applicability of SCM to SMEs by highlighting the needs and challenges of SMEs. The paper concludes that implementation of SCM could deliver a number of potential benefits to SMEs

Objective: One of the toughest challenges in social marketing is behaviour intervention. Previous researchers have developed various models and theories to simultaneously examine behaviour changes and their effects. Due to resources scarcity and global warming, automakers have come out with an innovative idea of Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) which has been a great improvement in the automotive industry. This invention targets for behavioural change or behavioural adoption for consumers to adjust their preferences from a conventional vehicle to EEV. High market growth in the automotive industry has encouraged social marketers, policymakers, governments, and academics to propose suitable intervention approach in motivating preferences toward EEV. Using the context of the purchase intention of EEV in Malaysia, this conceptual research paper applies Environmental Responsible Behaviour (ERB) model to evaluate the causal model of materialism, environmental belief and environmental concern transcend on Purchase Intention of EEV. Methodology: This study proposed an explanatory quantitative method. Using a partial least squares approach, the measurement model for this study is presented. Implication: This research presents a conceptually supported framework to describe the moderating role of cynicism on the relationship between environmental concern with purchase intention of EEV due to rising issues of greenwashing in the automotive industry. The study is particularly useful by providing insights in assisting the stakeholders and automotive industry players on promoting the pro-behaviour toward EEV. This paper also provide additional review of Environmental Responsible Behaviour (ERB) model that been derived from Values, Belief and Norms theory (Stern et al., 1995). JEL CLASSIFICATION: M3
