    Strategies of health preservation of agricultural workers with occupational diseases (material of focus-group research)

    The aim of the work is to analyze the attitude of employers to health preserving practices among agricultural workers with occupational diseases. Material and methods. Applying qualitative research strategy — focus-group interview (research period: 2015-2016). The basis of the study is opinion of peasant farm enterprise employers from Saratov region (n=8). Results. The article reveals formal character of health preserving actions aimed at agricultural workers with occupational diseases who are involved in work associated with occupational hazards at peasant farm enterprises. Breach of employment requirements and norms, conditions of work, sanitary and medical protection on the part of employers has also been stated. Failure of working career alternative adequate to somatic state of employees and absence of formed value system among agricultural workers aimed at health preserving practices have been detected as well. Conclusion. On the basis of employers opinion it is possible to state weakening of responsibility on the part of an employer as an active agent of health preserving process and its transfer to employees.</p

    The article presents the analysis of empirical data of foreign and domestic medical and social research on the problem related to the features of health preservation among medical students. It was revealed that all the researchers recognized the importance of health preservation for future doctors in the context of perspective patients counseling on healthy lifestyle. It was determined that the academic sphere of a medical school, on the one hand, promotes formation of health preserving practices among students and, on the other hand, resists these practices implementation due to the specificity of training process of future doctors. It was noted that students' perception of health preservation varied at different stages of training process in a medical school

    The goal is to analyze the main sources of health maintenance among elderly people who continue working after retirement. Material and methods. Analysis of the main sources of health maintenance among elderly people is based on the results of sociological research by means of semi-structured interview, conducted in 2014 in Saratov city. The sample included 8 respondents aged 55-65 years who continue working after their retirement. Results. The main sources of health maintenance among working pensioners include such preventive measures as moderate physical exercise, rational nutrition, folk medicine, hardening, and regular medical examinations. It was revealed that in the case of self-prevention of chronic diseases worsening elderly persons rely on previous doctors' prescriptions, drugs instructions, and medical literature. Conclusion. The data obtained in this research allow to make the conclusion that along with demand for preventive measures of health maintenance among working pensioners, there is an expansion of self-medication practice. This fact could be explained by a decrease of confidence in primary health care services, low availability of paid medical services
