    X-ray and neutron diffraction studies of coupled structural phase transitions in DyBaCo2_{2}O5.5_{5.5}

    Full text link
    A structural transition at T322T\approx 322 K from the PmmmPmmm to PmmaPmma phase is found to coincide with an anomaly of resistivity. Another structural phase transition doubling the lattice parameter cc, which has been postulated earlier to accompany a low-temperature magnetic transition in TbBaCo2_{2}O5.5_{5.5}, is observed in a single crystal DbBaCo2_{2}O5.5_{5.5} by means of the X-ray and neutron diffraction. The low temperature phase does not belong to the space group PccaPcca that has been chosen earlier as the highest subgroup of the PmmaPmma. The transition is of the first order with the temperature hysteresis, between T100T\approx 100 and T200T\approx 200 K, which probably explains anomalous magnetic properties in this temperature range.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    The article concerns somatic and reproductive health issues (menstrual cycle and functioning of mammary glands). The data has been received from of the total examination and questionnaires of female adolescents. The study has revealed 96% of orthopedic disorders and 72% of endocrine disorders. The investigation has found out that 97% of girls have had menstrual disorders. Dysmenorrhea has been observed in 84% of patients. The study demonstrated that 57% of girls had the cyclic (premenstrual) and 20% girls had the persistent mastalgia. The dysplasia of mammary glands was diagnosed in 92% of patients. The hypodynamia, smoking and pessimism are more typical for female adolescent

    The purpose: The study was performed to estimate the valeologic knowledge in adolescent girls. Material and methods: The study included 169 girls (aged 12-18). The anonymous questioning, the lessons on a healthy life style and sexual education were conducted. Results: The investigation showed that girls have had low level of the healthy life style and sexual education. More than half of girls in this study had no accurate understanding about the menstruation, normal sexual development. After the healthy life style lessons among the girls the level of valeologic knowledge was increased in 1.5-5 times. Conclusion: The awareness among girls on issues related to sexual and reproductive health through valeologic and sex education may be developed by means of school programs

    Lipidni profil u novorođenčadi niske porođajne mase

    The aim of the study was to assess lipid metabolism in premature infants to identify common patterns depending on birth weight. The levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, high- and low-density lipoproteins were determined in 173 infants with moderately low birth weight, very low birth weight and extremely low birth weight, including infants with intrauterine growth restriction, each weight category recorded during the neonatal period. The study showed that extremely low birth weight newborns with intrauterine growth restriction and very low birth weight newborns had significantly lower levels of lipid profile than infants with moderately low birth weight. It is necessary to expand the study of methods for correcting lipid spectrum in low birth weight infants for rehabilitation of low birth weight infants.Cilj istraživanja bio je procijeniti metabolizam lipida u nedonoščadi kako bi se utvrdili češći uzorci ovisno o porođajnoj masi. Razine kolesterola, triglicerida, lipoproteina niske i visoke gustoće mjerene su u 173 novorođenčadi umjereno niske, vrlo niske i iznimno niske porođajne mase, uključujući novorođenčad s intrauterinim zastojem rasta, a svaka se težinska kategorija bilježila tijekom neonatalnog razdoblja. Istraživanje je pokazalo da novorođenčad iznimno niske porođajne mase s intrauterinim zastojem rasta i novorođenčad vrlo niske porođajne mase ima značajno niže razine lipidnog profila nego novorođenčad umjereno niske porođajne mase. Potrebno je proširiti istraživanje metoda za ispravljanje lipidnog spektra kod novorođenčadi niske porođajne mase radi njihove rehabilitacije

    The aim of the article is to describe the case of congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation. The definition of this pathology, its morphology, classification, frequency and clinical forms are considered in the work. The data of the observation of a newborn with a complicated form of the defect have been determined: the peculiarities of the neonatal adaptation, the results of examination and treatment

    X-ray Diffraction Study of Superstructure in GdBaCo2O5.5

    Full text link
    A single crystal of GdBaCo2O5.47(2) has been studied by means of X-ray diffraction. Appearance of superstructure reflections at T = 341.5(7) K gives an evidence of continuous transition to the phase with unit cell doubled along the shortest edge a1. Critical exponent for the order parameter is found to be beta=0.33(1). The superstructure reflections are about 2-4 orders of magnitude weaker than the basic ones. Their systematic extinction indicates the crystal symmetry change from Pmmm to Pmma. The integrated intensities allow to calculate displacements of atoms from the positions in the high-temperature phase. The cobalt-ligand distances in the ordered phase are discussed in terms of the spin-state/orbital ordering of Co3+ ions.Comment: 4 page

    Objective: to examine the catamnesis of infants born with very low and extremely low birth weight, as well as undergoing critical conditions in the early neonatal period. To assess the health status of children observed, recommendations for further rehabilitation and prognosis. Material and Methods. At the department of catamnesis 4373 children were observed (total 21343 admissions), 62% of them were preterm infants. Children with extremely low body weight and very low body weight (157 patients, 20.3%) were evaluated for physical development, somatic and psychoneuro-logical status. Results. Analyzing the structure of morbidity observed in children hematologic violations are revealed in the form of anemia of prematurity moderate and severe degree in 15 patients (11.4%), slowing growth and development 25 (19.4%), respiratory disorders (19 children, 14.5%). In the assessment of physical development, growth disharmony revealed in 20.9%, weight disharmony in 29.4% of patients. Neuro-psychological development corresponded to the postconceptual age at 49.2% of children. Breastfeeding saved in 44.6%, mixed and in vitro were transferred in 55.4%. In a group of children follow-up observations identified numerous pathological conditions and high morbidity, requiring subsequent mandatory correction. Many of the children belong to the Group of infectious diseases patients (28.4%), with lots of somatic pathology (78.1%). A direct impact of the dynamics of body weight during the first months after birth was revealed in figures physical development of a child and the incidence in the future. The most vulnerable preterm infants from multiple pregnancies, small for gestational body weight deficiency which recovers slowly and have them marked lower psychomotor development. Conclusion. Improving rehabilitation technology, previously early steps, the integrated use of various methods and means, phases taking into accountthe stage of the disease process and individual approach to a child significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of rehabilitation therapy.</p
