Background. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) occupies 87% of all lung cancer cases. Due to delayed diagnosis, the prognosis of NSCLC is unfavorable. To improve the survival of patients with NSCLC, more effective therapeutic targets urgently need to be identified. Recently, circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been revealed to play a crucial role in NSCLC progression. Purpose. This research focused on the influence of circTADA2A on the malignant phenotype of NSCLC cells and its in-depth regulatory mechanisms. Methods. RT-qPCR and western blot assays were done to examine the level of gene/protein of interest. Wound healing and transwell assays were conducted to monitor the migration and invasion of NSCLC cells. Bioinformatics tools and mechanistic assays were utilized to delve into the underlying mechanism of circTADA2A in NSCLC cells. Results. The results demonstrated that circTADA2A presented a high expression in NSCLC. CircTADA2A knockdown was revealed to hamper migration and invasion of NSCLC cells. Mechanistically, circTADA2A elevated MAPK8 expression through sequestering miR214-3p and recruiting EIF4A3. Conclusion. CircTADA2A enhances MAPK8 expression by serving as a miR-214-3p sponge and EIF4A3 decoy, consequently promoting invasion and migration of NSCLC cells

Liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor of the distal femur: A case report

IntroductionLiposclerosing myxofibrous tumor (LSMFT) is a rare benign fibro-osseous tumor that most frequently occurs in the proximal femur. The reported literature shows that the proximal femur, ilium, tibia, humerus, rib, and skull have occurred, but so far, the female distal femur has not been characterized in detail. This, we think, is the first single comprehensive case report of the female distal femur. To prevent misdiagnosis and overtreatment of this illness, it is critical for us to continue strengthening our knowledge of it and to add it to the differential diagnosis of the space-occupying lesion of the female distal femur.Case summaryTwo months ago, a 55-year-old female patient was found to have a space-occupying lesion of the left distal femur and the pain symptom was aggravated. She underwent thorough curettage and bone grafting without additional treatment to relieve the current symptoms and determine the nature of the lesion in our hospital. The intraoperative specimens were submitted to the pathology laboratory for analysis, and the result was reported as LSMFT. And six months after the operation, the patient returned to our hospital for another x-ray examination and we found that she had recovered well without any signs of recurrence. The patient self-reported that she had now resumed her daily life without any uncomfortable symptoms.ConclusionThe incidence of LSMFT itself is relatively low, and the occurrence of the distal femur is even rarer. However, it is recommended to add LSMFT into the differential diagnosis of the occupying lesions of the distal femur. Once the diagnosis is made, thorough curettage and bone grafting without additional special treatment can achieve better postoperative outcomes. The patient gave her agreement after learning that information about the case will be submitted for publication

A Study on “Double-subject” Teaching Mode of Sport Statistics Course

Sport Statistics is an important applied subject in physical education field. Traditional teaching cannot meet its teaching demand. As a result, teachers are difficult in teaching and students are difficult in learning. Thus, it is very necessary to combine Sport Statistics with network teaching. In this study, the students of sports specialty were chosen as the objects of study, and “double-subject” teaching mode was used to teach Sport Statistics. Sport Statistics was combined with network course, and a new Web-based online courseware making platform system was applied. Besides, a network course quality evaluation model was constructed, and the evaluation was conducted from 7 aspects: teaching content U1, teaching design U2, course resource U3, page design U4, technical force U5, teacher as the subject U6 and user experience U7. It is found that “double-subject” teaching mode can significantly improve the teaching effect of Sport Statistics, motivate students’ learning interest, promote students’ oral expression ability, generalization and summarization ability, and self-learning ability, and enhance students’ ability to analyze and solve problems

A New Algorithm for Privacy-Preserving Horizontally Partitioned Linear Programs

In a linear programming for horizontally partitioned data, the equality constraint matrix is divided into groups of rows. Each group of the matrix rows and the corresponding right-hand side vector are owned by different entities, and these entities are reluctant to disclose their own groups of rows or right-hand side vectors. To calculate the optimal solution for the linear programming in this case, Mangasarian used a random matrix of full rank with probability 1, but an event with probability 1 is not a certain event, so a random matrix of full rank with probability 1 does not certainly happen. In this way, the solution of the original linear programming is not equal to the solution of the secure linear programming. We used an invertible random matrix for this shortcoming. The invertible random matrix converted the original linear programming problem to a secure linear program problem. This secure linear programming will not reveal any of the privately held data
