Hole spin relaxation in semiconductor quantum dots
Hole spin relaxation time due to the hole-acoustic phonon scattering in GaAs
quantum dots confined in quantum wells along (001) and (111) directions is
studied after the exact diagonalization of Luttinger Hamiltonian. Different
effects such as strain, magnetic field, quantum dot diameter, quantum well
width and the temperature on the spin relaxation time are investigated
thoroughly. Many features which are quite different from the electron spin
relaxation in quantum dots and quantum wells are presented with the underlying
physics elaborated.Comment: 10 pages, 10 figure
Quantization of a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker model in N=1 Supergravity with Gauged Supermatter
The theory of N = 1 supergravity with gauged supermatter is studied in the
context of a k = + 1 Friedmann minisuperspace model. It is found by imposing
the Lorentz and supersymmetry constraints that there are {\seveni no} physical
states in the particular SU(2) model studied.Comment: 5 pages, Talk at the 1st Mexican School in Gravitation and

The casuality and/or energy-momentum conservation constraints on QCD amplitudes in small x regime
The causality and/or the energy-momentum constraints on the amplitudes of
high energy processes are generalized to QCD. The constraints imply that the
energetic parton may experience at most one inelastic collision only and that
the number of the constituents in the light cone wave function of the
projectile is increasing with the collision energy and the atomic number.Comment: 24 pages,8 figures. The paper is streamlined, some references are

Matching Stages of Heavy Ion Collision Models
Heavy ion reactions and other collective dynamical processes are frequently
described by different theoretical approaches for the different stages of the
process, like initial equilibration stage, intermediate locally equilibrated
fluid dynamical stage and final freeze-out stage. For the last stage the best
known is the Cooper-Frye description used to generate the phase space
distribution of emitted, non-interacting, particles from a fluid dynamical
expansion/explosion, assuming a final ideal gas distribution, or (less
frequently) an out of equilibrium distribution. In this work we do not want to
replace the Cooper-Frye description, rather clarify the ways how to use it and
how to choose the parameters of the distribution, eventually how to choose the
form of the phase space distribution used in the Cooper-Frye formula. Moreover,
the Cooper-Frye formula is used in connection with the freeze-out problem,
while the discussion of transition between different stages of the collision is
applicable to other transitions also. More recently hadronization and molecular
dynamics models are matched to the end of a fluid dynamical stage to describe
hadronization and freeze-out. The stages of the model description can be
matched to each other on spacetime hypersurfaces (just like through the
frequently used freeze-out hypersurface). This work presents a generalized
description of how to match the stages of the description of a reaction to each
other, extending the methodology used at freeze-out, in simple covariant form
which is easily applicable in its simplest version for most applications.Comment: 9 pages, 2 figure
Irreducible Characters of General Linear Superalgebra and Super Duality
We develop a new method to solve the irreducible character problem for a wide
class of modules over the general linear superalgebra, including all the
finite-dimensional modules, by directly relating the problem to the classical
Kazhdan-Lusztig theory. We further verify a parabolic version of a conjecture
of Brundan on the irreducible characters in the BGG category \mc{O} of the
general linear superalgebra. We also prove the super duality conjecture
Low relaxation rate in a low-Z alloy of iron
The longest relaxation time and sharpest frequency content in ferromagnetic
precession is determined by the intrinsic (Gilbert) relaxation rate \emph{}.
For many years, pure iron (Fe) has had the lowest known value of for all pure ferromagnetic metals or binary alloys. We show that an
epitaxial iron alloy with vanadium (V) possesses values of which are
significantly reduced, to 355 Mhz at 27% V. The result can be understood
as the role of spin-orbit coupling in generating relaxation, reduced through
the atomic number .Comment: 14 pages, 4 figure
Signatures of cosmic tau-neutrinos
The importance and signatures of cosmic tau--(anti)neutrinos have been
studied for upward-- and downward--going and hadronic shower
event rates relevant for present and future underground water or ice detectors,
utilizing the unique and reliable ultrasmall-- predictions of the dynamical
(radiative) parton model. The upward--going event rates
calculated just from cosmic fluxes are sizeably
enhanced by taking into account cosmic fluxes
and their associated fluxes as well. The coupled transport
equations for the upward--going flux traversing
the Earth imply an enhancement of the attenuated and regenerated
flux typically around GeV with respect
to the initial cosmic flux. This enhancement turns out to be smaller than
obtained so far, in particular for flatter initial cosmic fluxes behaving like
. Downward--going events and in particular the
background--free and unique hadronic `double bang' and `lollipop' events allow
to test downward--going cosmic fluxes up to
about GeV.Comment: 32 pages, 6 figures; Added reference
Analytical and numerical studies of central galactic outflows powered by tidal disruption events -- a model for the Fermi bubbles?
Capture and tidal disruption of stars by the supermassive black hole in the
Galactic center (GC) should occur regularly. The energy released and dissipated
by this processes will affect both the ambient environment of the GC and the
Galactic halo. A single star of super-Eddington eruption generates a subsonic
out ow with an energy release of more than erg, which still is not
high enough to push shock heated gas into the halo. Only routine tidal
disruption of stars near the GC can provide enough cumulative energy to form
and maintain large scale structures like the Fermi Bubbles. The average rate of
disruption events is expected to be ~ yr, providing
the average power of energy release from the GC into the halo of dW/dt ~
3*10 erg/s, which is needed to support the Fermi Bubbles. The GC black
hole is surrounded by molecular clouds in the disk, but their overall mass and
filling factor is too low to stall the shocks from tidal disruption events
significantly. The de facto continuous energy injection on timescales of Myr
will lead to the propagation of strong shocks in a density stratified Galactic
halo and thus create elongated bubble-like features, which are symmetric to the
Galactic midplane.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures. The title and abstract have been changed.

Generalized Darboux transformations for the KP equation with self-consistent sources
The KP equation with self-consistent sources (KPESCS) is treated in the
framework of the constrained KP equation. This offers a natural way to obtain
the Lax representation for the KPESCS. Based on the conjugate Lax pairs, we
construct the generalized binary Darboux transformation with arbitrary
functions in time for the KPESCS which, in contrast with the binary Darboux
transformation of the KP equation, provides a non-auto-B\"{a}cklund
transformation between two KPESCSs with different degrees. The formula for
N-times repeated generalized binary Darboux transformation is proposed and
enables us to find the N-soliton solution and lump solution as well as some
other solutions of the KPESCS.Comment: 20 pages, no figure
