The design and optimization of synchronization sequence for Ultraviolet communication
In the ultraviolet (UV) scattering communication, the received signals
exhibit the characteristics of discrete photoelectrons due to path loss. The
synchronization is based on maximum Pulse Number-Sequence correlation problem.
First of all, the accuracy of synchronization is vital to channel estimation
and decoding. This article focuses on improving synchronization accuracy by
designing and optimizing synchronization sequences. As for the maximum Pulse
Number-Sequence correlation problem, it is assumed that the correlation values
satisfy the Gaussian distribution and their mathematical expectation, variance
and covariance are derived to express the upper bound of synchronization
offset. The synchronization sequence we designed has two equilong RANDOM parts
(Symbols meet Bernoulli distribution with equal probability.) and a
part between them with as its
proportion of entire sequence. On the premise of ensuring the synchronization
reliability, the synchronization deviation can be reduced by optimizing .
There are simulation experiments to verify correctness of the derivation,
reasonableness of the hypothesis and reliability of optimization. Compared with
equilong random sequence, the synchronization accuracy of the optimized
synchronization sequence is significantly improved
Algorithm and Hardware Design of Discrete-Time Spiking Neural Networks Based on Back Propagation with Binary Activations
We present a new back propagation based training algorithm for discrete-time
spiking neural networks (SNN). Inspired by recent deep learning algorithms on
binarized neural networks, binary activation with a straight-through gradient
estimator is used to model the leaky integrate-fire spiking neuron, overcoming
the difficulty in training SNNs using back propagation. Two SNN training
algorithms are proposed: (1) SNN with discontinuous integration, which is
suitable for rate-coded input spikes, and (2) SNN with continuous integration,
which is more general and can handle input spikes with temporal information.
Neuromorphic hardware designed in 40nm CMOS exploits the spike sparsity and
demonstrates high classification accuracy (>98% on MNIST) and low energy
(48.4-773 nJ/image).Comment: 2017 IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems (BioCAS
Traditional Chinese Mind and Body Exercises for Promoting Balance Ability of Old Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
The purpose of this study was to provide a quantitative evaluation of the effectiveness of traditional Chinese mind and body exercises in promoting balance ability for old adults. The eligible studies were extensively searched from electronic databases (Medline, CINAHL, SportDicus, and Web of Science) until 10 May 2016. Reference lists of relevant publications were screened for future hits. The trials used randomized controlled approaches to compare the effects of traditional Chinese mind and body exercise (TCMBE) on balance ability of old adults that were included. The synthesized results of Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), and static balance with 95% confidence intervals were counted under a random-effects model. Ten studies were selected based on the inclusion criteria, and a total of 1,798 participants were involved in this review. The results of the meta-analysis showed that TCMBE had no significant improvement on BBS and TUG, but the BBS and TUG could be obviously improved by prolonging the intervention time. In addition, the results showed that TCMBE could significantly improve the static balance compared to control group. In conclusion, old adults who practiced TCMBE with the time not less than 150 minutes per week for more than 15 weeks could promote the balance ability
Determination of conifer age biomarker DAL1 interactome using Y2H-seq
Age is a sophisticated physiological signal that ensures the sequence of different developmental stages in organisms. The regulation of ageing pathways appears to differ between gymnosperms and angiosperms. We previously identified DAL1 as a conserved conifer age biomarker that plays a crucial role in the transition from vegetative to reproductive life-history phases in pines. Therefore, elucidating the specific interaction events related to DAL1 is key to understanding how age drives conifer development. Large-scale yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) analysis followed by next-generation high-throughput sequencing (Y2H-seq) allowed us to identify 135 PtDAL1 interacting proteins in Pinus tabuliformis. Our study found that PtDAL1 interacting proteins showed an ageing-related module, with sophisticated interacting networks composed of transcription factors (TFs), transcriptional regulators (TRs), and kinases. These interacting proteins are produced in response to a variety of phytohormones and environmental signals, and are likely involved in wood formation, needle development, oleoresin terpenoids biosynthesis, and reproductive development. In this study, we propose a novel regulation model of conifer ageing pathways whereby PtDAL1 coordinates different environmental stimuli and interacts with corresponding proteins to regulate appropriate development
Nonlinear dynamic analysis on maglev train system with flexible guideway and double time-delay feedback control
In this paper, the dynamic behavior of time-delayed feedback control for maglev train system with double discrete time delays is considered with flexible guideway. Considering the maglev guideway as Beroulli-Euler beam, the mathematical model of maglev system with flexible guideway is constructed. The time delay of the two state feedback signals in the maglev system occurs simultaneously, and the values are different. The present treatment method only considers one single feedback delay, which are insufficiency. Thus, the Hopf bifurcation with double time-delay feedback of maglev train running on the flexible guideway is analyzed considering time-delayed position feedback signal Ï„1 and velocity feedback signal Ï„2. A novel method is presented to develop the double-parametric Hopf bifurcation diagram in relation to Ï„1 and Ï„2. Sufficient numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the complex dynamical behavior of the discrete delays Ï„1 and Ï„2 for maglev system and we verify the obtained theoretical analysis. Finally, the field experiments are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the Hopf bifurcation analytical method preliminarily
