    The crisis of public trust in state institutions is an important and urgent issue. The article aims to study the causes of the crisis of public trust in state institutions in modern reality. Due to the problematic nature of the problem, the article aims to discuss and analyze sociocultural approaches and theories of modern authors in social scientists on the mentioned research issue. The research is mainly based on the theoretical analysis of the problem. Accordingly, a theoretical study of the problem will be carried out and the relevant theories of the research question (rule of law, democratization, transition, the law-making process, etc.) and literature describing various experiences in the world will be analyzed. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of active citizenry/civic engagement in the formation of democratic institutions.
