    On Companion-Induced Off-Center Supernova-Like Explosions

We suggest that a neutron star with a strong magnetic field, spiraling into the envelope of a companion star, can generate a ``companion induced SN-like off-center explosion". The strongly magnetized neutron star ("magnetar") is born in a supernova explosion before entering into an expanding envelope of a supergiant companion. If the neutron star collapses into a black hole via the hypercritical accretion during the spiral-in phase, a rapidly rotating black hole with a strong magnetic field at the horizon results. The Blandford-Znajek power is sufficient to power a supernova-like event with the center of explosion displaced from the companion core. The companion core, after explosion, evolves into a C/O-white dwarf or a neutron star with a second explosion. The detection of highly eccentric black-hole, C/O-white dwarf binaries or the double explosion structures in the supernova remnants could be an evidence of the proposed scenario.Comment: 5 page

The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the long term results of interpositional connective tissue graft and horizontal and vertical bone augmentation in recessed area of interproximal papilla. Atrophic ridges rebuilt through GBR procedures. For this study, 2 major alterations are made in the surgical technique describes. First, the horizontal and vertical bone augmentation graft is obtained from autograft like ascending ramus or allograft with or without platelet-rich plasma and barrier membrane. Second, connective tissue for interpositional grafting is obtained from hard palate. This interpositioning graft would be success by use of pouch technique or envelope flap technique. From 1998, among over than 120 patients of implant treated. for this study, regardless of 1-staged or 2-staged surgery or type of implant surface treated, 60 implants of 18 patients which has a dissatisfaction on anterior region, food impaction on posterior region subjectively, or has a black-triangle on anterior and flattened inter-implant spaces clinically was selected. Differences of success rate between inter-dental and inter-implants depend on blood supply and distance between implants. Autografts, PRP and anorganic bovine bone Bio-Oss have been successfully employed for isolated augmentation area. It is essential to make the CT graft neovascularize to a recipient site, overcorrection of graft, immobilization of graft and tension-free suture. Based on annual measurements of gross texture, pocket probing depth, attachment level, and width of keratinized mucosa, this 5-year study indicates that interpositional CT graft when used in conjunction with appropriate bone augmentation technique, can become successfully esthetics and yield predictable maintenance results

Two Higgs doublet models for the LHC Higgs boson data at s=\sqrt{s}= 7 and 8 TeV

Updated LHC data on the new 126 GeV boson during the 7 and 8 TeV runnings strengthen the standard model Higgs boson interpretation further. Through the global χ2\chi^2 analysis, we investigate whether the new particle could be one of the scalar particles in two Higgs doublet models. Four types (Type I, II, X and Y) are comprehensively studied. Taking the recent analysis on the spin-parity of the new boson, we consider two scenarios: the new boson is either the light CP-even one (h0h^0) or the heavy CP-even one (H0H^0). It is found that both scenarios are consistent with the new data, not only in the parameter regions near the decoupling limit but also in other regions far from the decoupling limit. In addition, the current data are compatible with the possibility that the light Higgs boson h0h^0 is hidden in the mass window of 90-100 GeV. The diphoton or ττ\tau\tau channel can provide a probe of this possibility by the enhanced signal rates.Comment: To appear in JHE

H2 pressure swing adsorption for IGCC power plant and techno-economic analysis of integrating PSA to IGCC with carbon capture

Carbon capture and sequestration technologies emerge as the effectual remediation processes to reduce CO2 emissions from coal power plants. Integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) is a representative technology for utilizing coal as feedstock and is consequently playing a more important role to cover the global energy demand. The IGCC produces H2-rich mixture at high pressures (30-35 bar) after capturing CO2. It is reported that the high purity H2 recovered from the IGCC process can be economically supplied to a hydrogen turbine or fuel cell. And a PSA process is a strong candidate to produce high purity H2 from the IGCC effluent gas. However, due to higher operating pressure than the present H2 PSA processes, reducing the operating costs and efficiency has emerged as one of the key issues.
