The purpose of work was to study the morphological changes in thymus and spleen at experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) and after «Rebif» (interferon β-1a) treatment. With this aim the thymus and spleen of adult rats in 21 and 39 days after initiation of EAE were used. After 14th day induction of EAE “Rebif” was injected subcutaneous in doses: 0,55 mcg daily during 4 days, 1,1 mg daily during 3 days, 0,55 mcg each other day during 15 days. The square of correlation of cortex and medullar parts of lobules of thymus, white and red pulpas of spleen was measured, the calculation of cellular composition of thymus and spleen. The researches showed that the destructive and reactive changes develop in the organs of the immune system at EAE which correlate with the changes in the organs of the nervous system. The pathological changes of thymus and spleen after the EAE initiation are related to the demielinization changes in the nervous fibres of organs of the central nervous system. We conclude the influence of the «Rebif» at EAE was immunosuppressive and accelerates reparation processes in thymus and spleen

The analysis of scientific publications of domestic and foreign scholars has shown that the concept «an innovation strategy» and the concept «a strategy of innovative development» have been often equated. Critical analyses of existing understanding of these concepts and the use of process approach have allowed us to precise the concept «innovative strategy of development». In the contrast to existing understanding, we propose to consider it as the process of a strategy realization, define tools for its implementation (the complex of modern techniques and methods), precise the conditions of its realization (turbulence of environment) and define the final objective of its application (increasing the competitiveness of an enterprise). On the basis of the analysis of income and outcome information flows we have defined interconnection and interdependence of the processes of formation and implementation of an innovation strategy of an enterprise development as well as required information, methodological and organizational support, defined the ways of possible improvement

Magnetocardiography is a sensitive technique of measuring low magnetic fields generated by heart functioning, which is used for diagnostics of large number of cardiovascular diseases. In this paper, k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) technique is used for binary classification of myocardium current density distribution maps (CDDM) from patients with negative T-peak, male and female patients with microvessels (diffuse) abnormalities and sportsmen, which are compared with normal control subjects. Number of neighbors for k-NN classifier was selected to obtain highest classification characteristics. Specificity, accuracy, precision and sensitivity of classification as functions of number of neighbors in k-NN are obtained for classification with several distance measures: Mahalanobis, Cityblock, Eucleadian and Chebyshev. Increase of the accuracy of classification for all groups up to 10% was obtained using Cityblock distance metric in binary k-NN classifier with 19 - 27 neighbors, comparing to other metrics. Obtained results are acceptable for further patient’s state evaluation

© Author(s) 2013. This work is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 LicenseThe Lidar/Radiometer Inversion Code (LIRIC) combines the multiwavelength lidar technique with sun/sky photometry and allows us to retrieve vertical profiles of particle optical and microphysical properties separately for fine-mode and coarse-mode particles. After a brief presentation of the theoretical background, we evaluate the potential of LIRIC to retrieve the optical and microphysical properties of irregularly shaped dust particles. The method is applied to two very different aerosol scenarios: a strong Saharan dust outbreak towards central Europe and an Eyjafjallajökull volcanic dust event. LIRIC profiles of particle mass concentrations for the coarse-mode as well as for the non-spherical particle fraction are compared with results for the non-spherical particle fraction as obtained with the polarization-lidar- based POLIPHON method. Similar comparisons for fine-mode and spherical particle fractions are presented also. Acceptable agreement between the different dust mass concentration profiles is obtained. LIRIC profiles of optical properties such as particle backscatter coefficient, lidar ratio, Ångström exponent, and particle depolarization ratio are compared with direct Raman lidar observations. Systematic deviations between the LIRIC retrieval products and the Raman lidar measurements of the desert dust lidar ratio, depolarization ratio, and spectral dependencies of particle backscatter and lidar ratio point to the applied spheroidal-particle model as main source for these uncertainties in the LIRIC results.Peer reviewe

Hybrid MHD/PIC simulation of a metallic gas-puff z pinch implosion

We present the hybrid MHD/PIC simulations of the time evolution of a bismuth metallic gas-puff z pinch in external axial magnetic field (AMF). Recent experiments with IMRI-5 generator (450 kA, 450 ns) [1] show the certain effect of an axial magnetic field on radiation energy produced during z pinch implosion. In order to perform the numerical simulation of gas puff z pinch a hybrid model was developed. The hybrid model treats the electrons as a massless fluid and ions as macroparticles. The macroparticle dynamic is calculated with the use of PIC method. Ion-ion Coulomb collision is considered with the use of MC method. The radiation transfer of bismuth plasma was accounted in the framework of P1 method. The interelectrode gap pumping by plasma of 8 μs 80 kA bismuth arc with the following plasma implosion by 450 kA / 450 ns current pulse in different external AMF was modelled. The obtained results are in a reasonable agreement with the experimental results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.The work was supported by Russian Science Foundation (project No. 16-19-10142)
