Interacting particle systems and Yaglom limit approximation of diffusions with unbounded drift
We study the existence and the exponential ergodicity of a general
interacting particle system, whose components are driven by independent
diffusion processes with values in an open subset of \mathds{R}^d, .
The interaction occurs when a particle hits the boundary: it jumps to a
position chosen with respect to a probability measure depending on the position
of the whole system. Then we study the behavior of such a system when the
number of particles goes to infinity. This leads us to an approximation method
for the Yaglom limit of multi-dimensional diffusion processes with unbounded
drift defined on an unbounded open set. While most of known results on such
limits are obtained by spectral theory arguments and are concerned with
existence and uniqueness problems, our approximation method allows us to get
numerical values of quasi-stationary distributions, which find applications to
many disciplines. We end the paper with numerical illustrations of our
approximation method for stochastic processes related to biological population

Monitoring response to hepatitis B and C in EU/EEA: testing policies, availability of data on care cascade and chronic viral hepatitis-related mortality – results from two surveys (2016)
Objectives: The World Health Organization (WHO) developed a European Regional Action Plan (EAP) to fast-track action towards the goal of eliminating viral hepatitis. Robust monitoring is essential to assess national programme performance. The purpose of this study was to assess the availability of selected monitoring data sources in European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) Member States (MS). Methods: Availability of data sources at EU/EEA level was assessed using two surveys distributed to 31 EU/EEA MS in 2016. The two surveys covered (A) availability of policy documents on testing; testing practices and monitoring; monitoring of diagnosis and treatment initiation, and; (B) availability of data on mortality attributable to chronic viral hepatitis. Results: Just over two-thirds of EU/EEA MS responded to the surveys. 86% (18/21) reported national testing guidance covering HBV, and 81% (17/21) covering HCV; while 33% (7/21) and 38% (8/21) of countries, respectively, monitored the number of tests performed. 71% (15/21) of countries monitored the number of chronic HBV cases diagnosed and 33% (7/21) the number of people treated. Corresponding figures for HCV were 48% (10/21) and 57% (12/21). 27% (6/22) of countries reported availability of data on mortality attributable to chronic viral hepatitis. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that sources of information in EU/EEA Member States to monitor the progress towards the EAP milestones and targets related to viral hepatitis diagnosis, cascade of care and attributable mortality are limited. Our analysis should raise awareness among EU/EEA policy makers and stimulate higher prioritisation of efforts to improve the monitoring of national viral hepatitis programmes
Numerical Study of Finite Size Scaling for First Order Phase Transitions
I present results of simulations of the q=10 and q=20 2-d Potts models in the
transition region. The asymptotic finite size behavior sets in only for
extremely large lattices. We learn from this simulation that finite size
scaling cannot be used to decide that a transition is first order.Comment: Talk presented at the Workshop on Dynamics of First Order

Homotopy exponents for large H-spaces
We show that H-spaces with finitely generated cohomology, as an algebra or as
an algebra over the Steenrod algebra, have homotopy exponents at all primes.
This provides a positive answer to a question of Stanley.Comment: 4 page
From positive youth development to youth’s engagement : the dream teens
In addition to the empirical validation of ‘health and happiness’ determinants, theoretical
models suggesting where to ground actions are necessary. In the beginning of the
twentieth century, intervention models focused on evaluation and empirical validation
were only concerned about overt behaviours (verbal and non-verbal) and covert
behaviours (cognitions and emotions). Later on in the middle of the century, there was a
shift from treating the problems to a positive approach, focused on promoting assets and
individual strengths. Thus, the role of social competences, self-regulation and resilience
became salient. Researchers also highlighted the importance of social cohesion and
social support, as active health and wellbeing facilitators. More recently, in the twentyfirst
century, the population’s engagement (positive engagement) has become crucial.
This paper presents the evolution of this theoretical and scientific path, using Portugal as
a case study, where early interventions focused on the positive aspects of both covert and
overt behaviours, while more recent interventions included explicitly the perspective of
youth engagement and participation, as is the case of the Dream Teens Project. It is
expected that the political and professional understanding of this trajectory will allow
professionals to provide better health and educational services, improving young
people’s engagement, quality of life, health and wellbeingpeer-reviewe
Pure braid subgroups of braided Thompson's groups
We describe pure braided versions of Thompson's group F. These groups,
and , are subgroups of the braided versions of Thompson's group V,
introduced by Brin and Dehornoy. Unlike V, elements of F are order-preserving
self-maps of the interval and we use pure braids together with elements of F
thus preserving order. We define these groups and give normal forms for
elements and describe infinite and finite presentations of these groups.Comment: 26 pages, 6 figures, with updated bibliograph

Localization of algebras over coloured operads
We give sufficient conditions for homotopical localization functors to
preserve algebras over coloured operads in monoidal model categories. Our
approach encompasses a number of previous results about preservation of
structures under localizations, such as loop spaces or infinite loop spaces,
and provides new results of the same kind. For instance, under suitable
assumptions, homotopical localizations preserve ring spectra (in the strict
sense, not only up to homotopy), modules over ring spectra, and algebras over
commutative ring spectra, as well as ring maps, module maps, and algebra maps.
It is principally the treatment of module spectra and their maps that led us to
the use of coloured operads (also called enriched multicategories) in this
context.Comment: 34 page
