The “Salvation” in the Truth in Giovanni Gentile and Emanuele Severino

The theme that connects Giovanni Gentile and Emanuele Severino is the knowledge/participation in the Truth, which, in its characterization as absolute, can be the only way to salvation as a true liberation. Thus at the beginning of the twentieth century, Gentile presents the eternity of the transcendental ego in the dialectic of becoming, which is a constant evolution. In this way he assures in ethics always constituting the nonephemeral meaning of life and salvation in history. In the second half of the twentieth century Severino, after having identified in the actualism the definitive outcome of the philosophy of becoming, reaffirms the eternity of what is, not being existing but an appearance of an eternal. And yet – and it is the hypothesis of the contribution – the two "messages" of salvation, even in their distance, speak a language that is complemented each other. And they speak it for their being a "recovery" of the eternal or rather the "revelation" of the same

Il positivismo pedagogico a Napoli

The University of Naples was among the first and main seats of pedagogical positivism in Italy. The holders of the chair of Pedagogy (Fusco, Angiulli, Fornelli) developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century a not merely methodological reflection, addressed to the formation of civic consciousness of the city starting from family education. In other words, the Neapolitan professors played a role of major importance for civic education, strictly connected tothe family education in finding its main axis in the school. Hence came also the social commitment of university teachers in Naples, who were among the most important theorists of positivismteaching Italian.L’Università di Napoli fu tra le prime e principali sedi del positivismo pedagogico. Attraverso i titolari (Fusco, Angiulli, Fornelli) della cattedra di Pedagogia andò sviluppandosi tra il secondoOttocento e i primi anni del Novecento una riflessione non meramente metodologica, bensì indirizzata alla formazione della coscienza civile del cittadino a partire dall’educazione nella famiglia. In altri termini, i cattedratici napoletani svolsero un ruolo di notevole rilevanza peruna educazione civile, la quale a partire da quella familiare doveva trovare il suo asse principale nella scuola. Di qui altresì l’impegno sociale proprio dei docenti universitari napoletani, che furono tra i più significativi teorici del positivismo pedagogico italiano
