Asymmetric Search and Loss Aversion: Choice Experiment on Consumer Willingness to Search in the Gasoline Retail Market
Price search enables consumers to overcome information asymmetries, it can lead to a reduction in price dispersion and it can increase consumer surplus, but search is costly. In this paper, an internet survey is conducted among a random sample of 490 drivers in the State of Ohio to answer the question, when are consumers more likely to search? The internet survey affords us the opportunity to impose exogenous price changes in a random sample of gasoline consumers to examine the decision-making process behind intended search decisions. Results indicate that among the respondents who faced prices below their expected price, only 12% chose to search, whereas 45% searched when prices were above. Results suggest that asymmetric search can be explained by prospect theory, in the sense that consumers evaluate current prices compared to a reference price, and as a consequence they value price increases differently from price decreases. Our findings indicate that in the gasoline retail market, consumers are allowing retailers to extract consumer surplus by exhibiting loss aversion because this behavior deters search when the probability of finding a lower price is highest.price search, choice experiment, search cost, gasoline market, Consumer/Household Economics, Demand and Price Analysis, D83, D03,

The Capital Structure Determinants of Indonesia Publicly Listed Firms
In order to compete and survive in the unpredictable economy circumstances, corporation should be able to manage the capital structure. This research aims to investigate the influence of capital structure determinants (profitability, firm size, tangibility, and growth opportunity) towards capital structure decision in 138 Indonesia publicly listed firms from the period of 2009 – 2013 using multiple regression model. This research suggests that profitability, firm size, and growth opportunity statistically have significant influence toward corporate leverage. On the other hand, tangibility does not have significant influence toward capital structure decision. Profitability and firm size indicate negative influence towards corporate leverage that support pecking order theory. While, the negative relationship between growth opportunity and corporate leverage is aligned with static trade off theory and agency cost theory

This study aims to calculate the cost of goods manufactured baby clothes garment CV Surya Surabaya with the ABC method for reporting purposes and objectives of decision making in gaining competitive advantage . Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis method . The results showed that the conventional cost accounting applied in the enterprise value of the difference of the calculation produces the ABC method. Calculation of costs by activity-based costing method is expected to assist management in making more informed decisions as to be benefit/profit. Data collection methods used in this study is documentation . Research subjects in this study is the production cost of baby clothes in CV Surya Garments Surabaya . The research object in this study is the data associated with the determination of the production cost of baby clothes. The difference between the production cost of conventional methods with activity-based costing method produces values undercosting conditions ( conditions in which a product has a lower cost than the actual cost is absorbed by the product ) and overcosting ( a condition in which a product has a higher cost than the cost of which is actually absorbed by the product ). Analysis undertaken in this study members advise the Company to undertake restructuring of the production process and production control for the results of each period more evenly , because the fixed overhead costs is greater than the variable overhead costs , it is most impact in the calculation of the cost of production
Regimes of secularity: Citizenship, religion and Muslimness in Rotterdam, Leicester and Marseille
Western European nation-states are diverse and plural. Many Muslims are citizens
of France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. While everybody seems to know
to a certain extent who Muslims are and what Islam is, there is also disagreement about
what this label implies. A wide variety of signifiers are attached to this name: when we
think of Muslims we alternatively think of religion, we think of migrants and minorities,
of populations with low socio-economic position, of terrorists and radicals and while
many other images pop immediately to mind. These labels may be stereotypes. They may
generalize. But they are also used as forms of self-identification. Furthermore, these
meanings do not necessarily exclude each other, but together form a field of significance
which is constructed by all the actors taking part in the construction of meaning: a field
of Muslimness
