Validation of the competences for the 21st century skill scale in higher education students

In a global society, the importance of knowledge and assessment of transversal competences emerges to cope with the challenges of contemporary society, from a perspective of development and lifelong learning. Therefore, it is a priority to use assessment tools adapted to different cultures. The main objective of this study is to validate the instrument ‘Multidimensional 21st Century Skills Scale’ for the Portuguese population. The sample was composed of 413 participants of both genders, with a mean age of 24.30 years (standard deviation = 8.69), aged between 18 and 64 years, attending Higher and Vocational Education. The translation and back-translation of the instrument were carried out by experts (researchers and university professors in the areas of psychology, management, and entrepreneurship). The final version of the scale was composed of 30 items and the exploratory analysis identified three dimensions: Knowledge and Entrepreneurial Skills, Career Awareness and Innovation, and Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. These factors were validated by confirmatory analysis. Activity of plasmin and plasminogen in ultra high temperature milk with high and low somatic cell counts during storage

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito da contagem de células somáticas (CCS) do leite na atividade de plasmina e plasminogênio durante o período de armazenamento do leite longa vida integral. Os leites crus foram categorizados em grupos de CCS de baixa (342.000-487.000 células mL-1) e alta contagem (603.000-808.000 células mL-1). Dois lotes de leite longa vida em cada categoria de CCS foram analisados para determinação de plasmina e plasminogênio após 10, 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias de armazenamento em temperatura ambiente. Para a fabricação do leite longa vida, o leite cru foi submetido à pasteurização rápida seguida da esterilização industrial do leite por injeção de vapor pelo método direto e embalagem asséptica do produto. A CCS não apresentou efeitos sobre as características físico-químicas do leite cru, e nem sobre a atividade de plasmina e plasminogênio nos leites cru e longa vida, armazenados por 120 dias. Entretanto, independentemente da CCS, a atividade de plasmina e plasminogênio aumentou no leite longa vida ao longo do armazenamento, indicando a possibilidade de aumento da proteólise no produto durante sua vida de prateleira.This study aimed to evaluate the effect of somatic cell counts (SCC) in milk on plasmin and plasminogen activities of ultra high temperature (UHT) milk during storage. Raw milks were categorized in SCC groups of low (342,000-487,000 cells mL-1) and high cells (603,000-808,000 cells mL-1). Two replicates of UHT milks within each SCC category were analyzed for plasmin and plasminogen activities after 10, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days of storage at room temperature. For manufacture of UHT milk, raw milk was pasteurized and sterilized by direct vapor injection process, followed by aseptic packaging. SCC had no effect on physical-chemical characteristics of raw milk, and on plasmin or plasminogen activities in raw and UHT milks during 120 days of storage. However, independently of the SCC in raw milk, the activity of plasmin and plasminogen increased in UHT milk during storage, hence indicating a possible increase in proteolysis in the product during its shelf-life

The Highest Geomagnetic Storms of the Solar Cycle Observed at Ground Level

We report two ground-level observations, of geomagnetic storms of different origins; they are among the highest geomagnetic storms, in the solar Cycle 24. The first is St. Patrick’s Day storm on March 17, 2015, originated by the impact on Earth’s atmosphere of coronal mass ejections (CMEs), the storm reaching the condition of G4 (severe) level, in the NOAA geomagnetic scale. The second included the major geomagnetic storm whose origin is attributed to the interaction with the Earth of a High-Speed Stream (HSS) ahead of a positive polarity coronal hole on October 7, 2015. This storm reached the condition G3 (strong) level. We give emphasis to observations detected by the New-Tupi muon telescopes, located at sea level in Brazil (22.53° S, 43.13° W). We present a study of these observations in correlation with observations reported by multipoint space-based measurements, such as the ACE at Lagrange Point L1 and the geostationary GOES weather satellite, including two global geomagnetic indices and several ground-based detectors. A musealização do território como estratégia de gestão do patrimônio e administração da memória

O território pode ser entendido enquanto um museu a partir das perspectivas abertas pelo movimento denominado Nova Museologia e seu desdobramento acadêmico chamado Sociomuseologia. Isso nos permite compreender o patrimônio de uma maneira mais ampla, a partir de uma compreensão que contemple a musealização do território enquanto estratégia de administração da memória e instrumento de desenvolvimento social. Essa proposta de musealização do território visa despertar nos indivíduos um conhecimento crítico e uma ação transformadora da sociedade

Social representations and directing to the environmental education in the Perobas Biological Reserve, State of Paraná, Brazil

The Perobas Biological Reserve is situated in the Brazilian municipalities of Tuneiras do Oeste and Cianorte, State of Paraná. Prior to the foundation, the local and state communities’ representatives manifested different standpoints, favorable and unfavorable, concerning the establishment of this environmental protection area. Considering the importance of comprehending social representations that students from the City of Tuneiras do Oeste have concerning the Perobas Biological Reserve, the present study aimed at investigating Basic Education students, as well as indicating ways for an environmental education development. We used the Free Evocation of Words technique and the analysis of composition contents. We identified that representations of the analyzed group are based on the Nature components present in the Reserve and on the role of the local inhabitants for their conservation, however such knowledge is not well-founded. We understand that educative actions must be initiated in order to proportionate the construction of knowledge concerning the Reserve´s Nature components and the mutual interactions involved. This knowledge can, subsequently, lead students to comprehend that a role is ascribed to them in the protection and the co-responsibility for the preservation of the protected area

PODER, TEMPO E HISTÓRIA: REFLEXÃO SOBRE A JUSTIÇA DE TRANSIÇÃO NO BRASIL.

O objeto do presente texto é a justiça de transição numa abordagem interdisciplinar com a história, sociologia e filosofia. Isso foi necessário porque o direito não consegue dar todas as respostas dada a complexidade do tema, sobretudo, no Brasil país de história bastante conturbada. A hipótese é a de que no Brasil a justiça de transição não tenha sido efetivada. O objetivo geral é estabelecer uma discussão interdisciplinar sobre a justiça de transição, o específico é analisar para compreender como a justiça de transição no Brasil. O método utilizado foi o dedutivo e a metodologia foi de revisão bibliográfica

O CONCEITO DE CONTRARREVOLUÇÃO PROLONGADA DE FLORESTAN FERNANDES: ESTADO DE EXCEÇÃO NO BRASIL.

Para analisar o conceito de contrarrevolução prolongada no Brasil pautou-se pelo método dedutivo em revisão bibliográfica. Discutiu-se a relação do Estado com a propriedade e como isso impacta no direito. Abordou-se o Estado de Exceção e posteriormente o caso do Estado brasileiro com base no conceito de contrarrevolução prolongada. O objetivo geral é explicitar que o estado de exceção é regra, o específico é demonstrar que no Brasil o estado de exceção é constante e anterior ao conceito contemporâneo. Como resultado temos no Brasil nunca se teve democracia efetiva, nossa história é alternância de mais repressão e menos repressão

ANÁLISE DO PODER COMO ÊXITO NO PROCESSO DE COMUNICAÇÃO.

O presente trabalho visa analisar o poder e seus aspectos objetivos como efetividade e exercício dentro de um contexto relacional de comunicação. Poder não poder ser visto, tocado, armazenado. Por isso ele só será percebido nas relações sociais e assim ele é percebido quando o processo de comunicação é exitoso. Para tanto utilizamos o método dedutivo em revisão bibliográfica.
