STUDIES REGARDING THE MANUFACTURE OF RED GLASSES USED IN VEHICLE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

    Get PDF
Recently, glass industry in Romania has been affected by the tendency to avoid polluting substances. A similar problem is outlined related to the cadmium glasses used for signalizations in the car construction industry. The paper presents the advantages of obtaining red glasses based on copper that is introduced as an alloy of Cu Sn. The red copper glass may substitute cadmium glasses and they are used for signalizations in the car construction industry

STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF OIL EXTRACTION ON WATERS FROM TICLENI AREA, GORJ COUNTY

    No full text
Surface and groundwater pollution can be direct and indirect. In the extraction activity, oil and sewage are potential sources of groundwater pollution in the area. Petroleum is extracted from the deposit through methods that constitute both primary and secondary exploatation. The pollution in the areas of petroleum extraction is caused by leaks from the transport pipes. In the majority of the cases , the damages of the transport pipes are caused by the corrosive effect of salt water, which constitute the liquid impurity of the petroleum extract. A large quantity of petroleum products penetrate into the hydrosphere from industrial leaks and refineries, either directly in the sea or via the continental hydrographic network. It is estimated that via all these routes a quantity of 5-10 million tons of oilpenetrate into the ocean waters annually. In the area of Ţicleni, surface and groundwater quality indicators were monitored: pH, sulphates, chlorides, conductivity, hardness and oxygen content. The main water course draining under study in the area is the Amaradia River, a tributary of the Jiu River. Here samples were taken for analysis. Comparing the obtained results with the limits stipulated by the Order 161/2006 it is found that the groundwater samples analyzed from the section located at the confluence of Strâmba brook with Cioiana brook corresponds to the third grade in terms of salinity (chlorides), class II for sulphates and class I for the oxygen regime (chemical oxygen demand)

In the district of Gorj one may name the following critical areas with respect to the atmospheric pollution: RovinariEnergetic Complex, Turceni Energetic Complex and the limitrophe areas of the mining quarry exploitations. Thequality of the precipitations in the year 2010 has been monitored in the prelevation points: The Meteorological StationTargu-Jiu and The Hydrological Station Rovinari. The area of Targu-Jiu municipality joins the category of areas with acid precipitations and medium total ionic content.According to the quality data of the precipitations, the Rovinari area joins the category of areas with acidprecipitations with medium total ionic content. The best method against acid rainfall is given by the retechnologization of the installations that are using fossil fuels,C.T.E. Rovinari and C.T.E. Turceni respectively.According to the results obtained from the monitorization process, results compared with the normative acts in force, the district of Gorj may be classified in the area with low pollution

GLASS PLATES FOR MOTOR VEHICLES AND OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORT

At present, the majority of high quality glass plate is used in vehicle industry. The paper presents the technological process for obtaining glass plate, used in vehicle industry. Besides the usual attributes of high quality plane glass, those used in vehicle industry must not result in sharp and cutting splinters when broken, being dangerous for the passengers. This quality, due to which it is called safety glass, is obtained by various methods

Population growth, raising living standards and providing in creasingly larger consumer needs undermine the balance of ecology through the waste resulted from daily life. Waste from household garbage deposited on the streets, the ones randomly disposed of at the edges of forests , mountains, orchards and pastures or more severely thrown into lakes or rivers, represent a real danger to the future of society by influencing the quality of the natural environment and changing its quality as well as its evolutionary progress. This paper presents studies on waste management in the commune of PeÅŸtiÅŸani in Gorj County

INDUSTRIAL WASTE MANAGEMENT AND TOXIC EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND HUMAN HEALTH

The concept of sustainable development became a strategic objective for all mankind, it includes the idea of human development and it ensures continuity, without depletion beyond the affordability and regeneration of ecosystems. The waste is remnants of various natures (organic, inorganic, solid, liquid, gaseous, etc.) resulting from various industrial processes, agricultural activities, street, railway or water transport, household activities and housework. In accordance with art. 1 - Directive 75/442 C.E. of 15. 07. 1975 it is considered as waste any substance or object whose holder discards, intends or is required to throw. Regardless the action to be taken, a final waste will remain in the last stage of waste decomposition

STUDY ON THE CONTENT OF SEDIMENT PARTICLES IN THE AIR AROUND TG. JIU TOWN

One of the most important problems of the modern era is the air pollution. This phenomenon, highly complex, has become the focus of several international organizations since the consequences of air pollution are felt outside the country borders. By and large wecan speak of a regional pollution, which consists of atmospheric contamination by waste or by products liquids, solids gas, threatening the health of people, plants and animals or which can attack materials, reduce visibility and cause unpleasant odors. On a planetary scale, the elimination or accumulation in the atmosphere of certain products, leads to irreparable consequences on the planet's natural balance: ozone depletion and global warming of the atmosphere. This paper presents the study on the sedimentparticles in the air in Tg-Jiu. Determination of particulate matter from the air was done according to Standard no. 10195 / 75.Air purity.Determination of settled particles. In 2014 no exceeding of the maximum allowable concentration of sediment particles has been found in the four sampling points and in2015, out of a total of 60 measurements in four sampling points only one was above the maximum permissible concentratio

STUDY ON WATER QUALITY INDICATORS AT TAIA TREATMENT PLANT HUNDEDOARA COUNTY

Water is consumed in its natural form or in a processed one. It is a well-known fact that enterprises, institutions, energy and agriculture consume it as processed water whereas the population consumes it as drinking water or wastewater. This paper presents the study of water quality indicators from the treatment plant Taia in Hunedoara County. The following quality indicators were determined: turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorine oxide and organic substances. The determined quality indicators revealed that they fall within the limits set by legislation, with some exceptions. In each step of purification of organic substances there has been a continual reduction, this being carried out both biologically because of the biomass deposited on sand grains in the filter bed as well as especially during the oxidation step with active chlorin
