    Uso y abuso de las drogas entre los universitarios y su interfaz con las políticas públicas

    Objetivo: analizar el significado del uso y abuso de alcohol y otras drogas entre los estudiantes Universidad en línea con Brasil las políticas públicas sobre drogas. Método: los participantes fueron 49 estudiantes de una institución pública de educación superior en la región sureste de Brasil. Resultados: el análisis de contenido de Bardin elaboraran categoría analítica era: “Disonancia entre política públicas y el significado del uso de drogas entre los estudiantes universitarios.” El uso y abuso de drogas comienza en la adolescencia; alentado por familia y amigos, la felicidad y el escape de los problemas. Conclusión: es imprescindible conocer el significado del uso y abuso de drogas, desde la perspectiva de la Universidad para el desarrollo y la implementación de políticas públicas.Objetivo: analisar o significado do uso e do abuso de álcool e/ou de outras drogas entre os universitários em consonância com as políticas públicas brasileiras sobre drogas. Método: participaram 49 universitários de uma Instituição Pública de Ensino Superior da região Sudeste do Brasil. Resultados: pela Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin elaborou-se a categoria analítica: “Dissonância entre as políticas públicas e o significado do uso de drogas entre universitários”. O uso e o abuso de drogas inicia-se na adolescência; estimulado pelos familiares e amigos, e remete à felicidade e à fuga dos problemas. Conclusão: é fundamental conhecer o significado do uso e do abuso de drogas, sob a ótica do universitário para a elaboração e a implementação de políticas públicas.Objective: to analyze the meaning of the use and abuse of alcohol and / or other drugs among university students in accordance with Brazilian public policies on drugs. Method: 49 university students from a Public Institution of Higher Education in the Southeast region of Brazil participated. Results: Bardin’s Content Analysis elaborated the analytical category: “Dissonance between public policies and the meaning of drug use among university students”. Drug use and abuse begin in adolescence; Stimulated by family and friends, and refers to the happiness and flight of problems. Conclusion: it is fundamental to know the meaning of drug use and abuse, from the perspective of the university for the elaboration and implementation of public policies

    Patient safety management from the perspective of nurses

    OBJECTIVE To evaluate the actions of patient safety management developed in hospitals, from the perspective of nurses. METHOD This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study of the survey type. Participants were seven hospitals, in which seven nurse managers and 49 sector coordinator nurses (n = 56) answered the instrument prepared by the author. RESULTS The results showed that 100% of hospitals have an adverse event reporting system, 71.4% have a Risk Management Committee and 80% have discussions about the events. There is agreement that these discussions lead to favorable changes for patient safety in the surveyed institutions. The employees' fear of punishment for their faults, and the underreporting of events were the aspects of greatest weakness found. CONCLUSION The institutions should develop organizational policies focused on stimulating event notification and on the implementation of measures directed to a non-punitive organizational culture

    Brazilian Flora 2020: Leveraging the power of a collaborative scientific network

    International audienceThe shortage of reliable primary taxonomic data limits the description of biological taxa and the understanding of biodiversity patterns and processes, complicating biogeographical, ecological, and evolutionary studies. This deficit creates a significant taxonomic impediment to biodiversity research and conservation planning. The taxonomic impediment and the biodiversity crisis are widely recognized, highlighting the urgent need for reliable taxonomic data. Over the past decade, numerous countries worldwide have devoted considerable effort to Target 1 of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC), which called for the preparation of a working list of all known plant species by 2010 and an online world Flora by 2020. Brazil is a megadiverse country, home to more of the world's known plant species than any other country. Despite that, Flora Brasiliensis, concluded in 1906, was the last comprehensive treatment of the Brazilian flora. The lack of accurate estimates of the number of species of algae, fungi, and plants occurring in Brazil contributes to the prevailing taxonomic impediment and delays progress towards the GSPC targets. Over the past 12 years, a legion of taxonomists motivated to meet Target 1 of the GSPC, worked together to gather and integrate knowledge on the algal, plant, and fungal diversity of Brazil. Overall, a team of about 980 taxonomists joined efforts in a highly collaborative project that used cybertaxonomy to prepare an updated Flora of Brazil, showing the power of scientific collaboration to reach ambitious goals. This paper presents an overview of the Brazilian Flora 2020 and provides taxonomic and spatial updates on the algae, fungi, and plants found in one of the world's most biodiverse countries. We further identify collection gaps and summarize future goals that extend beyond 2020. Our results show that Brazil is home to 46,975 native species of algae, fungi, and plants, of which 19,669 are endemic to the country. The data compiled to date suggests that the Atlantic Rainforest might be the most diverse Brazilian domain for all plant groups except gymnosperms, which are most diverse in the Amazon. However, scientific knowledge of Brazilian diversity is still unequally distributed, with the Atlantic Rainforest and the Cerrado being the most intensively sampled and studied biomes in the country. In times of “scientific reductionism”, with botanical and mycological sciences suffering pervasive depreciation in recent decades, the first online Flora of Brazil 2020 significantly enhanced the quality and quantity of taxonomic data available for algae, fungi, and plants from Brazil. This project also made all the information freely available online, providing a firm foundation for future research and for the management, conservation, and sustainable use of the Brazilian funga and flora

    International audienceA method is presented to reconstruct charged particles with lifetimes between 10 ps and 10 ns, which considers a combination of their decay products and the partial tracks created by the initial charged particle. Using the Ξ\Xi^- baryon as a benchmark, the method is demonstrated with simulated events and proton-proton collision data at s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb1{}^{-1} collected with the LHCb detector in 2018. Significant improvements in the angular resolution and the signal purity are obtained. The method is implemented as part of the LHCb Run 3 event trigger in a set of requirements to select detached hyperons. This is the first demonstration of the applicability of this approach at the LHC, and the first to show its scaling with instantaneous luminosity

    Measurement of D0D0D^0-\overline{D}^0 mixing and search for CPCP violation with D0K+πD^0\rightarrow K^+\pi^- decays

    International audienceA measurement of the time-dependent ratio of the D0K+πD^0\rightarrow K^+\pi^- to D0K+π\overline{D}^0\rightarrow K^+\pi^- decay rates is reported. The analysis uses a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb1^-1 recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2015 through 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The D0D^0 meson is required to originate from a D+D0π+D^{*+}\rightarrow D^0\pi^+ decay, such that its flavor at production is inferred from the charge of the accompanying pion. The measurement is performed simultaneously for the K+πK^+\pi^- and Kπ+K^-\pi^+ final states, allowing both mixing and CPCP-violation parameters to be determined. The value of the ratio of the decay rates at production is determined to be RKπ=(343.1±2.0)×105R_{K\pi} = (343.1 \pm 2.0) \times 10^{-5}. The mixing parameters are measured to be cKπ=(51.4±3.5)×104c_{K\pi} = (51.4 \pm 3.5) \times 10^{-4} and cKπ=(13±4)×106c_{K\pi}^{\prime} = (13 \pm 4) \times 10^{-6}, where RKπcKπ\sqrt{R_{K\pi}}c_{K\pi} is the linear coefficient of the expansion of the ratio as a function of decay time in units of the D0D^0 lifetime, and cKπc_{K\pi}^{\prime} is the quadratic coefficient, both averaged between the K+πK^+\pi^- and Kπ+K^-\pi^+ final states. The precision is improved relative to the previous best measurement by approximately 60%. No evidence for CPCP violation is found
