Distributed strategy-updating rules for aggregative games of multi-integrator systems with coupled constraints

In this paper, we explore aggregative games over networks of multi-integrator agents with coupled constraints. To reach the general Nash equilibrium of an aggregative game, a distributed strategy-updating rule is proposed by a combination of the coordination of Lagrange multipliers and the estimation of the aggregator. Each player has only access to partial-decision information and communicates with his neighbors in a weight-balanced digraph which characterizes players' preferences as to the values of information received from neighbors. We first consider networks of double-integrator agents and then focus on multi-integrator agents. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy-updating rules is demonstrated by analyzing the convergence of corresponding dynamical systems via the Lyapunov stability theory, singular perturbation theory and passive theory. Numerical examples are given to illustrate our results.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

Distributed event-triggered aggregative optimization with applications to price-based energy management

This paper studies a distributed continuous-time aggregative optimization problem, which is a fundamental problem in the price-based energy management. The objective of the distributed aggregative optimization is to minimize the sum of local objective functions, which have a specific expression that relies on agents' own decisions and the aggregation of all agents' decisions. To solve the problem, a novel distributed continuous-time algorithm is proposed by combining gradient dynamics with a dynamic average consensus estimator in a two-time scale. The exponential convergence of the proposed algorithm is established under the assumption of a convex global cost function by virtue of the stability theory of singular perturbation systems. Motivated by practical applications, the implementation of the continuous-time algorithm with event-triggered communication is investigated. Simulations on the price-based energy management of distributed energy resources are given to illustrate the proposed method.Comment: 7 pages,7 figure

Optimal Pole Assignment of Linear Systems by the Sylvester Matrix Equations

The problem of state feedback optimal pole assignment is to design a feedback gain such that the closed-loop system has desired eigenvalues and such that certain quadratic performance index is minimized. Optimal pole assignment controller can guarantee both good dynamic response and well robustness properties of the closed-loop system. With the help of a class of linear matrix equations, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to the optimal pole assignment problem are proposed in this paper. By properly choosing the free parameters in the parametric solutions to this class of linear matrix equations, complete solutions to the optimal pole assignment problem can be obtained. A numerical example is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach

We report a case of bilateral congenital choanal atresia in a 22-year-old Chinese man, who was also diagnosed with congenital right accessory nasal deformity, osteoma of his left ethmoid sinus and congenital keratoleukoma of his right eye.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>A 22-year-old Chinese man presented with mouth breathing, sleep snoring and difficult feeding after birth, with no olfactory sensation. Three-dimensional computed tomography revealed bilateral choanal atresia and a high density bony shadow in his left ethmoid sinus that extended to his left frontal sinus.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Choanal atresia is often accompanied by other congenital abnormalities. Cell proliferation was determined by Cell Counting Kit-8 assay (CCK). [3H]-leucine incorporation assay was used to evaluate IT inhibition of protein synthesis. Cell apoptosis was quantified by flow cytometry. Caspase activities were measured using colorimetric protease assays.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Cell growth and protein synthesis of the gastric cancer cell lines were suppressed by IT in a dose- and time-dependent manner. IT also induced apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rates of gastric cancer cell lines MKN-45 and SGC7901 were 19.19% and 27.37%, respectively when treated with 50 ng/ml of IT. There were significant increase ofcaspase-3 activity at 24 hr of IT treatment (100 ng/ml) (P < 0.01) in these gastric cancer cell lines.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>IT anti-c-Met/PE38KDEL has anti-growth effects on the gastric cancer cell lines <it>in vitro</it>, and it provides an experimental basis for c-Met-targeted therapy towards <it>in vivo </it>testing.</p

Theory of the scattering of light and surface plasmon polaritons by finite-size subwavelength metallic defects via field decomposition

    Get PDF
A theoretical model is presented for the scattering of light and surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) by finite-size subwavelength metallic defects. Based on the decomposition of the scattered fields into SPPs and quasi-cylindrical waves (CWs), an SPP–CW model is developed to depict the multiple scattering of SPPs and CWs in finite-size defects using the elementary scattering processes in a single one. The involved elementary scattering of the CW, as well as the CW-related coefficients, which are difficult or even impossible to define and calculate according to classical scattering theory, is clarified. A close relationship between the scattering coefficients of the SPP and those of the CW has been pointed out and used to simplify the developed model. Compared to the corresponding pure SPP model and the fully vectorial computational data, the SPP–CW model is shown to be versatile and quantitatively accurate for finite-size defects such as grooves, ridges, slits or even hybrid systems of various geometrical parameters, over a broad spectral range from the visible to the thermal infrared regime

The title complex, [Cd(C9H9O2S)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]n, has a linear chain structure. The central CdII ion is in a slightly disorted octahedral environment, coordinated by two aqua ligands, two (4-tolylsulfanyl)acetate ligands and two bridging 4,4′-bipyridine ligands. The CdII ion lies on a twofold rotation axis. Intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect adjacent chains, forming a layer structure. An intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond is also present
