Studying Neutrino Directionality with the Double Chooz Experiment
This dissertation describes the Double Chooz neutrino oscillation experiment and the authors contributions to the collaboration, including hardware development and data analysis. We developed and tested both the Front End signal amplification modules and high voltage divider bases for veto photomultiplier tubes, the results of which are presented here. The current position reconstruction algorithm natively skews events towards the center of the detector. With our corrections, we reduce the systematic reconstruction uncertainty to less than 2 cm. Using the two part neutrino interaction of Inverse Beta Decay, we identify the neutrino source at phi = 84.5°±1.35°. The great depth and cleanliness of SNOLAB allows the study of extremely rare interactions and weak processes
