New results on SIDIS SSA from Jefferson Lab
We present studies of single-spin and double-spin asymmetries in
semi-inclusive electroproduction of pions using the CEBAF 6 GeV polarized
electron beam. Kinematic dependences of single and double spin asymmetries have
been measured in a wide kinematic range at CLAS with a polarized NH target.
Significant target-spin and asymmetries have been
observed. The hypothesis of factorization has been tested with -dependence
of the double spin asymmetry.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figure
Neutron structure function moments at leading twist
The experimental data on F2 structure functions of the proton and deuteron
were used to construct their moments. In particular, recent measurements
performed with CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab allowed to extend our knowledge
of structure functions in the large-x region. The phenomenological analysis of
these experimental moments in terms of the Operator Product Expansion permitted
to separate the leading and higher twist contributions. Applying nuclear
corrections to extracted deuteron moments we obtained the contribution of the
neutron. Combining leading twist moments of the neutron and proton we found d/u
ratio at x->1 approaching 0, although 1/5 value could not be excluded. The
twist expansion analysis suggests that the contamination of higher twists
influences the extraction of the d/u ratio at x->1 even at Q2-scale as large as
12 (GeV/c)^2.Comment: To appear in proceedings of Quark Confinement and the Hadron Spectrum

First measurement of the polarization observable E in the p→(γ→,π+)n reaction up to 2.25 GeV
First results from the longitudinally polarized frozen-spin target (FROST) program are reported. The double-polarization observable E, for the reaction γ p→π+n, has been measured using a circularly polarized tagged-photon beam, with energies from 0.35 to 2.37GeV. The final-state pions were detected with the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer in Hall B at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. These polarization data agree fairly well with previous partial-wave analyses at low photon energies. Over much of the covered energy range, however, significant deviations are observed, particularly in the high-energy region where high-Lmultipoles contribute. The data have been included in new multipole analyses resulting in updated nucleon resonance parameters. We report updated fits from the Bonn–Gatchina, Jülich–Bonn, and SAID groups
CLAS+FROST: new generation of photoproduction experiments at Jefferson Lab
A large part of the experimental program in Hall B of the Jefferson Lab is
dedicated to baryon spectroscopy. Photoproduction experiments are essential
part of this program. CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) and
availability of circularly and linearly polarized tagged photon beams provide
unique conditions for this type of experiments. Recent addition of the Frozen
Spin Target (FROST) gives a remarkable opportunity to measure double and triple
polarization observables for different pseudo-scalar meson photoproduction
processes. For the first time, a complete or nearly complete experiment becomes
possible and will allow model independent extraction of the reaction amplitude.
An overview of the experiment and its current status is presented.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figures. Invited paper NSTAR 2009 conferenc
The proton structure function F2 in the resonance region
Unique measurement of the proton structure function F2 in a wide
two-dimensional region of x and Q**2 has been reported. The accessible
kinematics covers entire resonance region up to W=2.5 GeV in the Q**2 interval
from 0.1 to 4.5 GeV**2. Obtained data allowed for the first time an evaluation
of moments of the structure function F2 directly from experimental data as well
as an intensive study of the Bloom-Gilman duality phenomenon.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, Proceedings of GDH2002 Conference, 3-6 July 2002,
