New Approach for Evaluating Incomplete and Complete Fusion Cross Sections with Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channels Method
We propose a new method for evaluating incomplete and complete fusion cross
sections separately using the Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channels method.
This method is applied to analysis of the deuteron induced reaction on a 7Li
target up to 50 MeV of the deuteron incident energy. Effects of deuteron
breakup on this reaction are explicitly taken into account. Results of the
method are compared with those of the Glauber model, and the difference between
the two is discussed. It is found that the energy dependence of the incomplete
fusion cross sections obtained by the present calculation is almost the same as
that obtained by the Glauber model, while for the complete fusion cross
section, the two models give markedly different energy dependence. We show also
that a prescription for evaluating incomplete fusion cross sections proposed in
a previous study gives much smaller result than an experimental value.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
Study of Field-Induced Magnetic Order in Singlet-Ground-State Magnet CsFeCl
The field-induced magnetic order in the singlet-ground-state system
CsFeCl has been studied by measuring magnetization and neutron diffraction.
The field dependence of intensity for the neutron magnetic reflection has
clearly demonstrated that the field-induced ordered phase is described by the
order parameter . A condensate growth of magnons is investigated through
the temperature dependence of and , and this ordering is
discussed in the context of a magnon Bose-Einstein condensation. Development of
the coherent state and the static correlation length has been observed in the
incommensurate phase in the field region of , a satellite peak was found in coexistence with the commensurate
peak at the phase boundary around 10 T, which indicates that the tilt of the
c-axis would be less than in the whole experiments.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
Electron spin phase relaxation of phosphorus donors in nuclear spin enriched silicon
We report a pulsed EPR study of the phase relaxation of electron spins bound

single crystals measured at 8 K.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
Gravitational Lens Statistics and The Density Profile of Dark Halos
We investigate the influence of the inner profile of lens objects on
gravitational lens statistics taking into account of the effect of
magnification bias and both the evolution and the scatter of halo profiles. We
take the dark halos as the lens objects and consider the following three models
for the density profile of dark halos; SIS (singular isothermal sphere), the
NFW (Navarro Frenk White) profile, and the generalized NFW profile which has a
different slope at smaller radii. The mass function of dark halos is assumed to
be given by the Press-Schechter function. We find that magnification bias for
the NFW profile is order of magnitude larger than that for SIS. We estimate the
sensitivity of the lensing probability of distant sources to the inner profile
of lenses and to the cosmological parameters. It turns out that the lensing
probability is strongly dependent on the inner density profile as well as on
the cosmological constant. We compare the predictions with the largest
observational sample, the Cosmic Lens All-Sky Survey. The absence or presence
of large splitting events in larger surveys currently underway such as the 2dF
and SDSS could set constraints on the inner density profile of dark halos.Comment: 22 pages, minor changes and references added, accepted for

Quantum Molecular Dynamics Approach to the Nuclear Matter Below the Saturation Density
Quantum molecular dynamics is applied to study the ground state properties of
nuclear matter at subsaturation densities. Clustering effects are observed as
to soften the equation of state at these densities. The structure of nuclear
matter at subsaturation density shows some exotic shapes with variation of the
density.Comment: 21 pages of Latex (revtex), 9 Postscript figure
