CDF Run II Status and prospects

Run II at the Tevatron Collider started at the beginning of March 2001. With extensive upgrades on both detectors and electronics the CDF II began to collect data. This paper reviews early Run II physics results obtained by analyzing data collected before the middle of june 2002. At the present the understanding of the detector performances is rather high so many analysis are already underway.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figures, 2 tables. Probing Physics Beyond the SM at Tevatron

Tevatron Experiments: CDF and DÌž\notO collected during October 1992 and February 1996 (Run I) a data sample of roughly 120 pb−1pb^{-1} ppˉ p \bar{p} collisions at a center of mass energy s=\sqrt{s}= 1.8 TeV. A large variety of physical studies have been performed using these data. Current paper reviews last results obtained searching for physics beyond the Standard Model. Direct Supersymmetry (SUSY) searches are not part of this review.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures and 2 tables. IFAE Conference Proceedin

Searches for New Physics at Tevatron

This paper reviews the most recent results on searches for physics beyond the Standard Model at Tevatron. Both the collider experiments: CDF and DO are performing a large variety of searches such as searches for scalar top and scalar bottom particles, search for new gauge bosons, search for long-lived massive particles and general searches for new particles decaying into dijets. The results, summarized here, are a selection of what obtained recently by both the collaborations using the Run II data, collected so far.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figures, 1 table. Pub. Cosmic Ray Physics with ACORDE at LHC

    Get PDF
The use of large underground high-energy physics experiments, for comic ray studies, have been used, in the past, at CERN, in order to measure, precisely, the inclusive cosmic ray flux in the energy range from 2x10^10 - 2x10^12 eV. ACORDE, ALICE Cosmic Rays DEtector, will act as Level 0 cosmic ray trigger and, together with other ALICE apparatus, will provide precise information on cosmic rays with primary energies around 10^15 - 10^17 eV. This paper reviews the main detector features, the present status, commissioning and integration with other apparatus. Finally, we discuss the ACORDE-ALICE cosmic ray physics program.Comment: Contribution to the 2007 Europhysics Conference on High Energy Physics - Manchester, England 19-25 July 2007; 3 pages, 3 figure

Search for the Lepton Flavour Violating Higgs decay H --> tau mu at Hadron Colliders

We study the prospects to detect at hadron colliders the Lepton Flavour Violating Higgs decay H --> tau mu, which can reach substantial branching fractions in several extensions of the SM. Among them, the generic two higgs doublet model can be taken as a representative case where B.R.(H --> tau mu) can reach values of order 10^-1-10^-2. Bounds on the LFV factor kappa_{tau mu} of order 0.8-1.7 can be derived at 95% c.l. at Tevatron Run-2 with 4 fb^-1 for m_H = 110-150 GeV.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figure, uses RevTeX4.
