Implications of SNO and BOREXINO results on Nuetrino Oscillations and Majorana Magnetic Moments
Using the recent measurement of SNO salt phase experiment, we investigate how
much the solar neutrino flux deficit observed at SNO could be due to
transition into antineutrino. Our analysis leads to rather optimistic
conclusion that the SNO salt phase data may indicate the existence of Majorana
magnetic moment. The prospect for the future BOREXINO experiment is also
discussed.Comment: 8 page
Maori Incomes: Investigating Differences Between Iwi
This paper investigates several factors that may be important for improving Maori outcomes, and the extent to which their importance varies by iwi. Specifically, it examines the extent to which controlling for differences in characteristics of the European population and the populations of various iwi can account for the differences in income distribution between the groups. It finds that qualification levels are important-they account for an average of approximately 29% of the difference between iwi and European incomes. The differing age distributions and the proportions of the population with different work and labour force statuses also account for much of the difference. Residence in different types of urban or rural area appears less relevant, as does residence in different regional council areas. The sizes of the influences of the different factors vary considerably by iwi and sometimes by gender. This suggests that policies aimed at improving Maori incomes may be more cost-effective if they target specific iwi.Income distribution, Maori income, iwi, decomposition

Renormalization Group Evolution of Neutrino Parameters in Presence of Seesaw Threshold Effects and Majorana Phases
We examine the renormalization group evolution (RGE) for different mixing
scenarios in the presence of seesaw threshold effects from high energy scale
(GUT) to the low electroweak (EW) scale in the Standard Model (SM) and Minimal
Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM). We consider four mixing scenarios namely
Tri-Bimaximal Mixing, Bimaximal Mixing, Hexagonal Mixing and Golden Ratio
Mixing which come from different flavor symmetries at the GUT scale. We find
that the Majorana phases play an important role in the RGE running of these
mixing patterns along with the seesaw threshold corrections. We present a
comparative study of the RGE of all these mixing scenarios both with and
without Majorana CP phases when seesaw threshold corrections are taken into
consideration. We find that in the absence of these Majorana phases both the
RGE running and seesaw effects may lead to 5 at low
energies both in the SM and MSSM. However, if the Majorana phases are
incorporated to the mixing matrix the running can be enhanced both in the SM
and MSSM. Even by incorporating non zero Majorana CP phases in the SM, we do
not get in its present 3 range. The current values of the
two mass squared differences and mixing angles including can be
produced in the MSSM case with tan = 10 and non zero Majorana CP phases
at low energy. We also calculate the order of effective Majorana mass and
Jarlskog Invariant for each scenario under consideration.Comment: Discussion modified in Sec 4, references added. Version to appear in
