Two-parametric deformation Up,q[gl(2/1)]U_{p,q}[gl(2/1)] and its induced representations

The two-parametric quantum superalgebra Up,q[gl(2/1)]U_{p,q}[gl(2/1)] is consistently defined. A construction procedure for induced representations of Up,q[gl(2/1)]U_{p,q}[gl(2/1)] is described and allows us to construct explicitly all (typical and nontypical) finite-dimensional representations of this quantum superalgebra. In spite of some specific features, the present approach is similar to a previously developed method [1] which, as shown here, is applicable not only to the one-parametric quantum deformations but also to the multi-parametric ones.Comment: Latex, 13 pages, no figur

Objective To investigate the effectiveness of educational poster on improving secondary school students' knowledge of emergency management of dental trauma. Methods A cluster randomised controlled trial was conducted. 16 schools with total 671 secondary students who can read Chinese or English were randomised into intervention (poster, 8 schools, 364 students) and control groups (8 schools, 305 students) at the school level. Baseline knowledge of dental trauma was obtained by a questionnaire. Poster containing information of dental trauma management was displayed in a classroom for 2 weeks in each school in the intervention group whereas in the control group there was no display of such posters. Students of both groups completed the same questionnarie after 2 weeks. Results Two-week display of posters improved the knowledge score by 1.25 (p-value = 0.0407) on average. Conclusion Educational poster on dental trauma management significantly improved the level of knowledge of secondary school students in Hong Kong.published_or_final_versio

    Entrepreneurial Learning in Thai Enclaves

This paper investigates the relationship between human and social capital and business knowledge acquisition of Thai immigrant entrepreneurs in Australian restaurant businesses. Business knowledge acquisition in this paper is distinguished into two types: marketing knowledge and financial knowledge. This study attempts to examine the extent to which 1) human capital aspects, formal education, industry-related training and experience are related to the acquisition of marketing and financial knowledge, and 2) social capital dimensions are related to marketing and financial knowledge acquisition. An anonymous survey of 540 Thai restaurant owners was conducted. Eighty-five usable questionnaires were returned from the 540, which were used for analysis. Thai immigrant entrepreneurs demonstrate relatively high educational background with some specific knowledge of the industry. Principal components analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were the two major statistical techniques employed to address the hypotheses
