Development of a computer program to obtain ordinates for NACA 4-digit, 4-digit modified, 5-digit, and 16 series airfoils
A computer program developed to calculate the ordinates and surface slopes of any thickness, symmetrical or cambered NACA airfoil of the 4-digit, 4-digit modified, 5-digit, and 16-series airfoil families is presented. The program produces plots of the airfoil nondimensional ordinates and a punch card output of ordinates in the input format of a readily available program for determining the pressure distributions of arbitrary airfoils in subsonic potential viscous flow
The biogeography of the caribou lungworm, Varestrongylus eleguneniensis (Nematoda: Protostrongylidae) across northern North America
Varestrongylus eleguneniensis (Nematoda; Protostrongylidae) is a recently described species of lungworm that infects caribou (Rangifer tarandus), muskoxen (Ovibos moschatus) and moose (Alces americanus) across northern North America. Herein we explore the geographic distribution of V. eleguneniensis through geographically extensive sampling and discuss the biogeography of this multi-host parasite. We analyzed fecal samples of three caribou subspecies (n = 1485), two muskox subspecies (n = 159), and two moose subspecies (n = 264) from across northern North America. Protostrongylid dorsal-spined larvae (DSL) were found in 23.8%, 73.6%, and 4.2% of these ungulates, respectively. A portion of recovered DSL were identified by genetic analyses of the ITS-2 region of the nuclear rDNA or the cytochrome oxidase c subunit I (COI) region of the mtDNA. We found V. eleguneniensis widely distributed among caribou and muskox populations across most of their geographic prange in North America but it was rare in moose. Parelaphostrongylus andersoni was present in caribou and moose and we provide new geographic records for this species. This study provides a substantial expansion of the knowledge defining the current distribution and biogeography of protostrongylid nematodes in northern ungulates. Insights about the host and geographic range of V. eleguneniensis can serve as a geographically extensive baseline for monitoring current distribution and in anticipating future biogeographic scenarios under a regime of accelerating climate and anthropogenic perturbation
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) in the Cultural Sector: What's next?
6 pagesIn this issue, Antonio C. Cuyler, Assistant Professor of Arts Administration at Florida State University, invites us to join and contribute to the ongoing journey of examining and researching diversity, equity, and inclusion within the field of arts administration. Cuyler introduces the range of his research around diversity in arts administration leadership and educational practices in the field. He further calls the field to conduct additional, purposeful research around markers of diversity such as race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic class, indigeneity, and ability–as well as questions of equity and inclusion that his research has not yet engaged. This work is necessary to examine historical and contemporary structures, forms of knowledge, and ideologies that perpetuate and change the differentials and distribution of power in society as specifically represented in the arts and culture sector. Such research further builds the opportunities, teaching practices, content areas, analytical skills, and constructive thinking that are embedded into arts administration training programs that prepare arts and cultural sector leaders
Zachowanie konsumenta Unii Europejskiej na rynku festiwalów w Polsce
In companies oriented toward marketing, consumers are at the centre of attention and learning about their market behaviour and preferences is the starting point in the process of shaping the marketing strategy. An organization, thanks to the right marketing strategy, can better adapt to its environment, which is a key element of strategic management. Therefore, this article addresses the issue of consumer behaviour relative to festivals. The first part of the paper features a brief description of consumers of music, film, and theatre festivals in Poland based on surveys, and the second part describes cultural consumers’ market behaviour. The researchers collected data for this study on N=891 consumers of five Polish festivals in 2016/2017.W firmach zorientowanych na marketing, konsumenci znajdują się w centrum uwagi, a rozpoznanie ich zachowań rynkowych i preferencji jest punktem wyjścia w procesie kształtowania strategii marketingowej. Organizacja, dzięki odpowiedniej strategii marketingowej, może lepiej dostosować się do swojego otoczenia, które jest kluczowym elementem zarządzania strategicznego. Dlatego w artykule rozważano kwestię zachowań konsumenckich w odniesieniu do festiwali. Pierwsza część artykułu zawiera krótki opis konsumentów festiwali muzycznych, filmowych i teatralnych w Polsce, a druga część w oparciu o badania ankietowe, opisuje zachowania rynkowe konsumentów usług kulturalnych. Autorzy zebrali dane do tego badania na próbie (N = 891) konsumentów pięciu polskich festiwali w roku 2016/2017
