Partially composite two-Higgs doublet model
In the extra dimensional scenarios with gauge fields in the bulk, the
Kaluza-Klein (KK) gauge bosons can induce Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type
attractive four-fermion interactions, which can break electroweak symmetry
dynamically with accompanying composite Higgs fields. We consider a possibility
that electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) is triggered by both a fundamental
Higgs and a composite Higgs arising in a dynamical symmetry breaking mechanism
induced by a new strong dynamics. The resulting Higgs sector is a partially
composite two-Higgs doublet model with specific boundary conditions on the
coupling and mass parameters originating at a compositeness scale .
The phenomenology of this model is discussed including the collider
phenomenology at LHC and ILC.Comment: 20 pages, 7 figure
CP--violating Chargino Contributions to the Higgs Coupling to Photon Pairs in the Decoupling Regime of Higgs Sector
In most supersymmetric theories, charginos belong to
the class of the lightest supersymmetric particles and the couplings of Higgs
bosons to charginos are in general complex so that the CP--violating chargino
contributions to the loop--induced coupling of the lightest Higgs boson to
photon pairs can be sizable even in the decoupling limit of large pseudoscalar
mass with only the lightest Higgs boson kinematically accessible at
future high energy colliders. We introduce a specific benchmark scenario of CP
violation consistent with the electric dipole moment constraints and with a
commonly accepted baryogenesis mechanism in the minimal supersymmetric Standard
Model. Based on the benchmark scenario of CP violation, we demonstrate that the
fusion of the lightest Higgs boson in linearly polarized photon--photon
collisions can allow us to confirm the existence of the CP--violating chargino
contributions {\it even in the decoupling regime of the Higgs sector} for
nearly degenerate SU(2) gaugino and higgsino mass parameters of about the

MSSM Higgs sector CP violation at photon colliders: Revisited
We present a comprehensive analysis on the MSSM Higgs sector CP violation at
photon colliders including the chargino contributions as well as the
contributions of other charged particles. The chargino loop contributions can
be important for the would-be CP odd Higgs production at photon colliders.
Polarization asymmetries are indispensable in determining the CP properties of

Production of He-4 and (4) in Pb-Pb collisions at root(NN)-N-S=2.76 TeV at the LHC
Results on the production of He-4 and (4) nuclei in Pb-Pb collisions at root(NN)-N-S = 2.76 TeV in the rapidity range vertical bar y vertical bar <1, using the ALICE detector, are presented in this paper. The rapidity densities corresponding to 0-10% central events are found to be dN/dy4(He) = (0.8 +/- 0.4 (stat) +/- 0.3 (syst)) x 10(-6) and dN/dy4 = (1.1 +/- 0.4 (stat) +/- 0.2 (syst)) x 10(-6), respectively. This is in agreement with the statistical thermal model expectation assuming the same chemical freeze-out temperature (T-chem = 156 MeV) as for light hadrons. The measured ratio of (4)/He-4 is 1.4 +/- 0.8 (stat) +/- 0.5 (syst). (C) 2018 Published by Elsevier B.V.Peer reviewe
Mortality and Morbidity in Severely Traumatized Elderly Patients
Background: As the population ages, the elderly will constitute a prominent proportion of trauma patients. The elderly suffer more severe outcomes from injuries compared with the young. In this study, we examined the relationship between mortality and complications with age.
Methods: This study was a retrospective review of 256 major trauma patients (Injury Severity Score &gt; 15) admitted to an emergency center over a two- year period. Age-dependent mortality and complications were evaluated.
Results: Of 256 patients, 209 (81.6%) were male and the mean age was 47.2 years. There was a trend between increasing age and increasing mortality, but this was not statistically significant. Increasing age was correlated with frequency of complications.
Conclusions: Age was confirmed to be an independent predictor of mortality in major trauma. We documented that elderly trauma patients suffer from complications more frequently compared with their younger counterparts. Appropriate and specific triage and management guidelines for elderly trauma patients are needed
Mass-Count Disparity in Mobile Traffic
Mass-count disparity is a basis of the elephants and mice phenomenon in Internet traffic analysis. Mobile applications tend to minimize transmission overhead by reducing object size. Assuming the mice get smaller, we first look at properties of mass-count disparity in the smart device traffic. We find the existence of elephants and represent an accurate inequality measure using the Gini coefficient where the heavy-tail property is not clearly visible in the trace. The Gini coefficients range from 0.71 (web) to 0.98 (application market traffic), implying a heavy inequality distribution toward 1. The cutoff point of elephants is 1.55 MB that is even comparable with small size photos. Our hypothesis from the early analysis indicates that every mobile user is potentially generating elephant flows. We observe that a significant stance of application market traffic is responsible for such phenomenon.110sciescopu
Fine-grained Traffic Classification based on Functional Separation
Current efforts to classify Internet traffic highlight accuracy. Previous studies have focused on the detection of major applications such as P2P and streaming applications. However, these applications can generate various types of traffic which are often considered as minor and ignorant traffic portions. As network applications become more complex, the price paid for not concentrating on minor traffic classes is in reduction of accuracy and completeness. In this context, we propose a fine-grained traffic classification scheme and its detailed method, called functional separation. Our proposal can detect, according to functionalities, different types of traffic generated by a single application and should increase completeness by reducing the amount of undetected traffic. We verify our method with real-world traffic. Our performance comparison against existing DPI-based classification frameworks shows that the fine-grained classification scheme achieves consistently higher accuracyand completeness.
