Description of a new genus and species belonging to the family phyllidiidae (nudibranchia: Doridoidea)
A new genus of phyllidiid nudibranch, Reticulidia, is described. Distinguishing features are the reticulate pattern of smooth ridges on the dorsum and the radially arranged, glandular discs which make up the pharyngeal bulb. Additional features of the foregut are described and compared with other genera. The importance of the alimentary system for the separation of genera within the Phyllidiidae is supported and its validity reinforced by this new genus. One species, Reticulidia halgerda, is described as new and differentiated from a second, sympatric species. Reticulidia is presently known from the eastern Indian Ocean, South China Sea and western Pacific Ocean
Redescription of phyllidia coe/estis bergh, 1905 (Opisthobranchia: Nudibranchia: Doridoidea)
Phyllidia coelestis Bergh, 1905 is redescribed. Phyllidia alia Yonow, 1984 is recognized as a junior synonym. P. coelestis has been confused with P. elegans Bergh, P. nobilis Bergh and P. varicosa Lamarck in the past. Internal anatomy is detailed for the first time and the morphology of the penial spines is advanced as a useful additional character for the description of Phy llidia species. P. coelestis is shown to be widespread in the tropical Indo-Pacific
