Hadron Spectra and QGP Hadronization in Au+Au Collisions at RHIC
The transverse mass spectra of Omega hyperons and phi mesons measured
recently by STAR Collaboration in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 130 GeV are
described within a hydrodynamic model of the quark gluon plasma expansion and
hadronization. The flow parameters at the plasma hadronization extracted by
fitting these data are used to predict the transverse mass spectra of J/psi and

Exact Study of the Effect of Level Statistics in Ultrasmall Superconducting Grains
The reduced BCS model that is commonly used for ultrasmall superconducting
grains has an exact solution worked out long ago by Richardson in the context
of nuclear physics. We use it to check the quality of previous treatments of
this model, and to investigate the effect of level statistics on pairing
correlations. We find that the ground state energies are on average somewhat
lower for systems with non-uniform than uniform level spacings, but both have
an equally smooth crossover from the bulk to the few-electron regime. In the
latter, statistical fluctuations in ground state energies strongly depend on

Transverse Momentum Spectra of and Mesons from Quark Gluon Plasma Hadronization in Nuclear Collisions
Recent results on transverse mass spectra of and
mesons in central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 AGeV are considered. It is
shown that those results support a hypothesis of statistical production of
charmonia at hadronization and suggest the early thermal freeze--out of
and mesons. Based on this approach the collective
transverse velocity of hadronizing quark gluon plasma is estimated to be
. Predictions for transverse mass spectra of hidden and
open charm mesons at SPS and RHIC are discussed.Comment: Four pages, one figur
Omega, J/psi and psi' Transverse Mass Spectra at RHIC
The transverse mass spectra of J/psi and psi' mesons and Omega hyperons
produced in central Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies are discussed within a
statistical model used successfully for the interpretation of the SPS results.
The comparison of the presented model with the future RHIC data should serve as
a further crucial test of the hypothesis of statistical production of charmonia
at hadronization. Finally, in case of validity, the approach should allow to
estimate the mean transverse flow velocity at the quark gluon plasma

Fluctuations and Instabilities of Ferromagnetic Domain Wall pairs in an External Magnetic Field
Soliton excitations and their stability in anisotropic quasi-1D ferromagnets
are analyzed analytically. In the presence of an external magnetic field, the
lowest lying topological excitations are shown to be either soliton-soliton or
soliton-antisoliton pairs. In ferromagnetic samples of macro- or mesoscopic
size, these configurations correspond to twisted or untwisted pairs of Bloch
walls. It is shown that the fluctuations around these configurations are
governed by the same set of operators. The soliton-antisoliton pair has exactly
one unstable mode and thus represents a critical nucleus for thermally
activated magnetization reversal in effectively one-dimensional systems. The
soliton-soliton pair is stable for small external fields but becomes unstable
for large magnetic fields. From the detailed expression of this instability
threshold and an analysis of nonlocal demagnetizing effects it is shown that
the relative chirality of domain walls can be detected experimentally in thin
ferromagnetic films. The static properties of the present model are equivalent
to those of a nonlinear sigma-model with anisotropies. In the limit of large

Strange particle production at RHIC in a single-freeze-out model
Strange particle ratios and pT-spectra are calculated in a thermal model with
single freeze-out, previously used successfully to describe non-strange
particle production at RHIC. The model and the recently released data for phi,
Lambda, anti-Lambda, and K*(892) are in very satisfactory agreement, showing
that the thermal approach can be used to describe the strangeness production at
RHIC.Comment: We have added the comparison of the model predictions to the newly

On Superspace Chern-Simons-like Terms
We search for superspace Chern-Simons-like higher-derivative terms in the low
energy effective actions of supersymmetric theories in four dimensions.
Superspace Chern-Simons-like terms are those gauge-invariant terms which cannot
be written solely in terms of field strength superfields and covariant
derivatives, but in which a gauge potential superfield appears explicitly. We
find one class of such four-derivative terms with N=2 supersymmetry which,
though locally on the Coulomb branch can be written solely in terms of field
strengths, globally cannot be. These terms are classified by certain Dolbeault
cohomology classes on the moduli space. We include a discussion of other
examples of terms in the effective action involving global obstructions on the

Critical statistics in a power-law random banded matrix ensemble
We investigate the statistical properties of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors
in a random matrix ensemble with . It is known that
this model shows a localization-delocalization transition (LDT) as a function
of the parameter . The model is critical at and the eigenstates
are multifractals. Based on numerical simulations we demonstrate that the
spectral statistics at criticality differs from semi-Poisson statistics which
is expected to be a general feature of systems exhibiting a LDT or `weak

All-loop calculation of the Reggeon field theory amplitudes via stochastic model
The evolution equations for Green functions of the Reggeon Field Theory (RFT)
are equivalent to those of the inclusive distributions for the
reaction-diffusion system of classical particles. We use this equivalence to
obtain numerically Green functions and amplitudes of the RFT with all loop
contributions included. The numerical realization of the approach is described
and some important applications including total and elastic proton--proton
cross sections are studied. It is shown that the loop diagram contribution is
essential but can be imitated in the eikonal cross section description by
changing the Pomeron intercept. A role of the quartic Pomeron coupling which is
an inherent part of the stochastic model is shown to be negligible for

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and European Cystic Fibrosis Society Survey of cystic fibrosis mental health care delivery
Background: Psychological morbidity in individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) and their caregivers is common. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and European Cystic Fibrosis Society (ECFS) Guidelines Committee on Mental Health sought the views of CF health care professionals concerning mental health care delivery.
Methods: An online survey which focused on the current provision and barriers to mental health care was distributed to CF health care professionals.
Results: Of the 1454 respondents, many did not have a colleague trained in mental health issues and 20% had no one on their team whose primary role was focused on assessing or treating these issues. Insufficient resources and a lack of competency were reported in relation to mental health referrals. Seventy-three percent of respondents had no experience with mental health screening. Of those who did, they utilized 48 different, validated scales.
Conclusions: These data have informed the decision-making, dissemination and implementation strategies of the Mental Health Guidelines Committee sponsored by the CFF and ECFS
