Climate Action as a Community Health Solution

Aparna Bole, MD, FAAP, is Medical Director of Community Integration at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. She leads efforts to build close partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance the well-being of patients and families at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s and MacDonald Women’s Hospitals, and supports innovation in women’s and pediatric primary care delivery. She is particularly interested in the intersection between environmental sustainability and pediatric public health. She serves as chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Environmental Health, and the boards of Healthcare Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth (as co-chair), and the Ohio Environmental Council. Kerene N. Tayloe, Esq. is a social justice advocate who has worked tirelessly in the areas of Environmental Justice, Civil Rights, and voter protection. Before returning to WE ACT for Environmental Justice, she was the Policy Director for Green For All. She is focused on ensuring that communities of color lead and speak for themselves as we address the important challenge of climate change. To that end, she believes it is imperative that people of color and women have access to economic opportunities in the clean energy sector. She was a fellow in the highly selective Clean Energy Leadership Institute whose mission is to empower young professionals for careers in clean energy.
