Assessment of efficacy of excimer laser correction of myopy by Lasek in patients with thin cornea
The authors have analyzed the results of the long-term monitoring of patients, operated by eximer laser with LASEK technique. In 160 eyes (80 patients) was performed excimer laser vision correction by LASEK. The patients were randomized into 2 groups. Patients of the Group I had cornea with thickness in central zone 445-498 micron. Patients of the Group II had an average cornea thickness. Decrease of vision after the excimer laser correction for 11.25% had patients of Group I. Mean value of regress was -1.66+0,68 per year. Decrease of vision in patients of Group II was 5% (p=0.26 in comparing with Group I). Residual myopy was -1.50+0,28 (p=0.2 in comparing with Group I). Noncorrected visual acuty after 1 year of follow up ware 0.91 and 0.94 in Group I and Group II respectively.
