Éducation et cultures en contexte plurilingue : analyse de l’expérience de la jeunesse guyanaise

Malgré l’apparition d’un discours des pouvoirs publics visant la promotion de la cohésion sociale du territoire, au regard des stratégies en œuvre ou en projet, cet article met en évidence la variété des contextes de scolarisation et leur rôle dans les situations d’échec scolaire de nombreux jeunes de Guyane.Ainsi, il sonde les principales difficultés liées aux exigences de la scolarisation dans la langue française et son poids en matière de réussite scolaire par rapport à la tradition orale et à d’autres réalités linguistiques et culturelles locales.Cette recherche met au jour les paradoxes d’une démarche fondée sur la confrontation nécessaire entre les atouts du territoire, le passé culturel, la vie quotidienne des jeunes, issus pour la plupart des familles fragiles, pratiquant des langues minoritaires et le modèle du discours officiel par rapport aux jeunes de l’hexagone.Enfin, elle expose la part qui reste à travailler dans l’éducation et dans la participation des jeunes au processus de construction de la société guyanaise d’aujourd’hui. Elle souligne en conclusion que bon nombre des faiblesses relevées sur le terrain résultent de la difficulté permanente d’articulation de la langue d’enseignement avec les langues parlées sur le territoire. Ces dernières n’étant pas traditionnellement associées à l’école et qui ne sont pas traditionnellement associées à l’école. Les problèmes rencontrés sur le terrain de cette ancienne colonie française soulignent la nécessité d’une prise en compte collective de cette situation.Despite the appearance of a speech by public authorities to promote social cohesion of the territory, in the light of the strategies implemented or planned, this article highlights the context of schooling of many young people in Guyana who share this space multilingual social and are in a situation of academic failure or dropping out.So, it searches the key challenges related to the demands of education in the French language and its weight in terms of academic achievement compared with the oral tradition and other local linguistic and cultural realities. This research reveals the paradoxes of an approach based on the confrontation between the necessary assets of the territory, the cultural past, the daily lives of young people for the most fragile families practicing minority languages and model of speech official compared to young people in metropolitan France.This research shows that there is much work to be done in youth education and youth involvement to develop the actual society of French Guyana.The research also indicates that many weaknesses cares from difficulties to ink language used in school and local languages.Problems meet by the French Guyana, a former colony, shows that collective awareness of these situations is necessary.A pesar de la aparición de un discurso de los poderes públicos que pretende promover la cohesión social del territorio en relación con las estrategias aplicadas o en fase de preparación, este artículo pone de relieve la variedad de los entornos de escolarización y su papel en los casos de fracaso escolar de muchos jóvenes de la Guayana francesa.Así, examina las principales dificultades ligadas a las exigencias de escolarización en lengua francesa y su importancia en lo referente al éxito educativo frente a la tradición oral y otras realidades lingüísticas y culturales locales.En suma, este estudio revela las paradojas de un método basado en la confrontación necesaria entre las ventajas que presenta el territorio, el pasado cultural y la vida cotidiana de los jóvenes procedentes en la mayoría de los casos de familias frágiles que utilizan lenguas minoritarias y el modelo del discurso oficial con respecto a los jóvenes de la Francia europea.Por último, el estudio expone la parte que se debe trabajar en la educación y en la participación de los jóvenes en el proceso de construcción de la sociedad guayanesa actual subrayando, como conclusión, que muchas de las deficiencias detectadas sobre el terreno se deben a la dificultad permanente de articulación de la lengua de enseñanza con las lenguas habladas en el territorio, que tradicionalmente no se asocian a la escuela. Los problemas hallados sobre el terreno de esta antigua colonia francesa subrayan la necesidad de que esta situación sea considerada a nivel colectivo

L’égalité d’accès à la lecture : quels enjeux pour les sites isolés de l’intérieur de la Guyane française ?

This study opens a discussion on issues of social integration around reading in the territory of French Guiana. The socio-economic handicaps the development of reading are particularly important in this department french. The Guyana who does not belong to a reading society, is an oral society torn between modernity by reading and writing and oral tradition. The studies propose to go beyond the simple diagnosis to consider development strategies designed to popularize reading in this department, for example with the development of the public reading from library on a boat to meet the isolation of populations. In this society marked by the large proportion of illiteracy and illiteracy, and low practice of reading, equal access to reading is challenge for the future of this territory

La lecture publique à l’épreuve du territoire, un défi pour la Guyane de demain ?

Les mutations continues de l’environnement culturel des habitants de Guyane favorisent une prise de conscience des attentes des populations locales et de leur demande sociale en matière de lecture publique. Cela devrait à terme susciter l’émergence d’un public « avisé » malgré l’influence de la tradition orale. Par conséquent, face à la complexité du terrain sociologique, il est nécessaire de modifier les stratégies des acteurs et de les adapter aux réalités sociales et à la vie quotidienne des populations concernées. Pour atteindre ces objectifs, sur quelles représentations sociales peuvent reposer les interventions des acteurs ? L’égalité d’accès à la lecture : quels enjeux pour les sites isolés de l’intérieur de la Guyane française ?

Cette étude ouvre une réflexion sur les enjeux d’intégration sociale autour de la lecture dans le territoire de la Guyane française. Les handicaps socioéconomiques du développement de la lecture sont particulièrement importants dans ce département français. La Guyane n’appartient pas à une société de lecture ; c’est une société d’oralité déchirée entre la modernité par la lecture et l’écriture et la tradition par l’oralité. L’étude propose daller au-delà du simple diagnostic pour envisager des stratégies de développer destinées à populariser la lecture dans ce département, par exemple avec le développer de la lecture publique à partir de biblio/pirogue pour répondre à l’isolement des populations.
