Their first game was Friday at noon against No. 7 seed Edmonton Archbishop O’Leary Spartans. The Zeniths were seeded No. 2 going into the playoffs. The Spartans won in an upset of82-79. Jimmy Balderson led the scoring for the Zeniths with 29 points while Allen Tollestrup had 19 and Darren Bevers 18. That brought them to play against Taber W.R. Myers Rebels Friday night. The Bill Plumley rink of Lethbridge won over Bruce Beasleys Magrath rink to win the second event sponsored by Martec Insulations. In February we met at the Del Bonita School and practiced our public speaking and impromptu speeches. Our Public Speaking night was held on March 12, 2001 at the Del Bonita School. Flint Vayro won the Junior Division, Janay Carter and Kaycee Newton won first and second in the Intermediate Division and for the Seniors, Amanda Newton and Jody Newton won first and second.
