Ocenka metodov obnaruzhenija Strongyloides stercoralis Stiles et Hassall, 1902 v fekaljakh s tochki zrenija ikh ehffektivnosti i bezopasnosti issledujushhego
The effectiveness and safety of the methods at detecting Strongyloides stercoralis, by passing larvae from the faeces to water, have been estimated. An appraisal has been also made of the methods when identifying invasion in individuals and in mass field examinations. The following methods were used: thick faecal cmear method, decantation technique, Vajda glass and Petri dish technique (1931) and Baermann technique (1917). The following culturing methods were used: Dancescu technique (1968), Harad and Mori filter paper technique and Fillleborn agar Petri dish technique (1921). Baermann technique proved to be the most effective and safe. Dancescu technique and Fillleborn agar Petri dish technique proved to be most useful among the culturing methods. The authors recommend Dancescu technique for detecting S. stercoralis in individual examinations and Baermann technique in mass field examinations. The detection of S. stercoralis larvae by the two methods ought to be checked by Fillleborn agar Petri dish technique in order to identify species of the parasite
Iz kazuistiki strongiloidoza
Because of strongyloidosis two patients still living in Poland and one foreigner were treated. Diagnose has been based on the Fillleborn agar culture but behaviour of the parasite and its larvae during treatment was controlled with Baermann method in addition.
During treatment telmid has been administered for two patients but thiabendazol (mintezol) for the third. The effectiveness of therapy has been controlled using the methods mentioned above after the first and the sixth month from the date of cure ending. There has been obtained the permanent therapeutical effect
