The evaluation of liver fibrosis regression in chronic hepatitis C patients after the treatment with direct-acting antiviral agents – A review of the literature

The second-generation of direct-acting antiviral agents are the current treatment for chronic viral hepatitis C infection. To evaluate the regression of liver fibrosis in patients receiving this therapy, liver biopsy remains the most accurate method, but the invasiveness of this procedure is its major drawback. Different non-invasive tests have been used to study changes in the stage of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis treated with the second-generation of direct-acting antiviral agents: liver stiffness measurements (with transient elastography or acoustic radiation force impulse elastography) or different scores that use serum markers to calculate a fibrosis score. We prepared a literature review of the available data regarding the long-term evolution of liver fibrosis after the treatment with direct-acting antiviral agents for chronic viral hepatitis C

Mapping the Evolution of Cybernetics: A Bibliometric Perspective

In this study, we undertake a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the cybernetics research field. We compile a dataset of 4856 papers from the ISI Web of Science database spanning 1975–2022, employing keywords related to cybernetics. Our findings reveal an annual growth rate of 7.56% in cybernetics research over this period, indicating sustained scholarly interest. By examining the annual progression of scientific production, we have identified three distinct periods characterized by significant disruptions in yearly publication trends. These disruptions have been thoroughly investigated within the paper, utilizing a longitudinal analysis of thematic evolution. We also identify emerging research trends through keyword analysis. Furthermore, we investigate collaborative networks among authors, their institutional affiliations, and global representation to elucidate the dissemination of cybernetics research. Employing n-gram analysis, we uncover diverse applications of cybernetics in fields such as computer science, information science, social sciences, sustainable development, supply chain, knowledge management, system dynamics, and medicine. The study contributes to enhancing the understanding of the evolving cybernetics landscape. Moreover, the conducted analysis underscores the versatile applicability across various academic and practical domains associated with the cybernetics field

Charting the Course of School Dropout Research: A Bibliometric Exploration

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis focused on the research domain of school dropout. Over the course of time, nations across the globe have come to acknowledge the significance of this phenomenon and have made concerted efforts to gain deeper insights into it, with the aim of mitigating the associated risks. Consequently, it has become evident that the origins of this phenomenon can be traced back to a child’s formative years, and, once identified, it can be ameliorated through the implementation of an array of mitigation strategies. Therefore, the principal objective of this paper is to navigate the body of work published in connection with the school dropout phenomenon, shedding light on the research community’s interest in this subject. Our investigation was inaugurated by assembling a comprehensive dataset encompassing 1,592 papers sourced from the ISI Web of Science database, spanning the years from 1976 to 2022. Notably, the research community has exhibited a significant level of engagement with this research area, as evidenced by a robust annual growth rate of 11.14%. To uncover emerging research trajectories, we conducted an exhaustive examination of keyword usage. Moreover, we explored into the complex web of collaborative relationships among authors, identifying the most prolific contributors to this field. Furthermore, we conducted a thorough analysis of the most salient papers within this domain, and, for enhanced elucidation, we have presented a review of the top-10 most cited works, thereby spotlighting the prevailing research directions that have captured the attention of scholars hailing from diverse corners of the world. The results of our analysis reveal a burgeoning global interest in the school dropout phenomenon over time
