Moments of Wigner function and Renyi entropies at freeze-out
Relation between Renyi entropies and moments of the Wigner function,
representing the quantum mechanical description of the M-particle
semi-inclusive distribution at freeze-out, is investigated. It is shown that in
the limit of infinite volume of the system, the classical and quantum
descriptions are equivalent. Finite volume corrections are derived and shown to
be small for systems encountered in relativistic heavy ion collisions.Comment: 15 pages, one figur
Phase Transition of 4D Simplicial Quantum Gravity with U(1) Gauge Field
The phase transition of 4D simplicial quantum gravity coupled to U(1) gauge
fields is studied using Monte-Carlo simulations. The phase transition of the
dynamical triangulation model with vector field () is smooth as
compared with the pure gravity(). The node susceptibility () is
studied in the finite size scaling method. At the critical point, the node
distribution has a sharp peak in contrast to the double peak in the pure
gravity. From the numerical results, we expect that 4D simplicial quantum
gravity with U(1) vector fields has higher order phase transition than 1st
order, which means the possibility to take the continuum limit at the critical
point.Comment: 3 pages, latex, 3 eps figures, uses espcrc2.sty. Talk presented at

Superposition models and the multiplicity fluctuations in heavy ion collisions
A class of simple superposition models based on the Glauber picture of
multiple collisions is compared with the data on the centrality dependence of
the multiplicity distributions in a central rapidity bin. We show how the
results depend on the specific assumptions concerning the distributions in the
number of participants and their relations to the distributions of the number
of produced hadrons in various phase space bins. None of the versions of the
model describes satisfactorily the centrality dependence of the scaled
dispersion.Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures, a misprint in formula corrected, accepted for

Condensation in nongeneric trees
We study nongeneric planar trees and prove the existence of a Gibbs measure
on infinite trees obtained as a weak limit of the finite volume measures. It is
shown that in the infinite volume limit there arises exactly one vertex of
infinite degree and the rest of the tree is distributed like a subcritical
Galton-Watson tree with mean offspring probability . We calculate the rate
of divergence of the degree of the highest order vertex of finite trees in the
thermodynamic limit and show it goes like where is the size of the
tree. These trees have infinite spectral dimension with probability one but the
spectral dimension calculated from the ensemble average of the generating
function for return probabilities is given by if the weight
of a vertex of degree is asymptotic to .Comment: 57 pages, 14 figures. Minor change
Phase transition and topology in 4d simplicial gravity
We present data indicating that the recent evidence for the phase transition
being of first order does not result from a breakdown of the ergodicity of the
algorithm. We also present data showing that the thermodynamical limit of the
model is independent of topology.Comment: 3 latex pages + 4 ps fig. + espcrc2.sty. Talk presented at

Balance Functions, Correlations, Charge Fluctuations and Interferometry
Connections between charge balance functions, charge fluctuations and
correlations are presented. It is shown that charge fluctuations can be
directly expressed in terms of a balance functions under certain assumptions.
The distortion of charge balance functions due to experimental acceptance is
discussed and the effects of identical boson interference is illustrated with a
simple model.Comment: 1 eps figure included. 5 pages in revtex
Towards an unified description of total and diffractive structure functions at HERA in the QCD dipole picture
It is argued that the QCD dipole picture allows to build an unified
theoretical description -based on BFKL dynamics- of the total and diffractive
nucleon structure functions. This description is in qualitative agreement with
the present collection of data obtained by the H1 collaboration. More precise
theoretical estimates, in particular the determination of the normalizations
and proton transverse momentum behaviour of the diffractive components, are
shown to be required in order to reach definite conclusions.Comment: latex file with 5 encapsulated figures, 19 page
On kinematics and dynamics of independent pion emission
Multiparticle boson states, proposed recently for 'independently' emitted
pions in heavy ion collisions, are reconsidered in standard second quantized
formalism and shown to emerge from a simplistic chaotic current dynamics.
Compact equations relate the density operator, the generating functional of
multiparticle counts, and the correlator of the external current to each other.
'Bose-Einstein-condensation' is related to the external pulse. A quantum master
equation is advocated for future Monte-Carlo simulations.Comment: 10 pages LaTeX, Sec.7 adde
Criticality, Fractality and Intermittency in Strong Interactions
Assuming a second-order phase transition for the hadronization process, we
attempt to associate intermittency patterns in high-energy hadronic collisions
to fractal structures in configuration space and corresponding intermittency
indices to the isothermal critical exponent at the transition temperature. In
this approach, the most general multidimensional intermittency pattern,
associated to a second-order phase transition of the strongly interacting
system, is determined, and its relevance to present and future experiments is
discussed.Comment: 15 pages + 2 figures (available on request), CERN-TH.6990/93,

Unifying approach to hard diffraction
We find a consistency between two different approaches of hard diffraction,
namely the QCD dipole model and the Soft Colour Interaction approach. A
theoretical interpretation in terms of S-Matrix and perturbative QCD properties
in the small regime is proposed.Comment: 4pages, 1 figure, letter submitted for publicatio
