    GENOTOXICITY OF CERIUM OXIDE NANOPARTICLE IN ZEBRAFISH AND GREEN MUSSEL PERNA VIRIDIS USING ALKALINE COMET ASSAY

    Cerium oxide nanoparticles or nanoceria has versatile application in biomedical, solar cells and gas sensors. Increasing utilization of nanoceria has raised concerns over its release to environment and potential exposure. In vitro studies have shown its genotoxic potential, but reports on aquatic life are very limited. In this study, zebrafish (Danio rerio) and green mussel (Perna viridis) was exposed to different concentration 10, 20, 50 µg/l of nanoceria for 24, 72, and 120 h and the genotoxic response was measured using comet assay. The results showed significant (p < 0.05) increase in tail DNA (TDNA) and olive tail moment (OTM) as measured using comet assay in exposed animals as compared to control. The highest TDNA and OTM were measured after 120 h of exposure with 50 µg/l of nanoceria in zebrafish as well as in green mussel. The results of this study demonstrate that short-term exposure to nanoceria causes a genotoxic response in zebrafish and green mussel, hence its environmental release should be carefully monitored.&nbsp

    Experimental investigations on forming limit diagram of ultra thin SS 304 steel : effect of circular grid size, sheet orientation, punch size and deformation speed

    In the present work, SS 304 sheet of 200 μm thickness was used to experimentally evaluate the forming limit diagram (FLD). In this context, a sub-size limiting dome height (LDH) test setup was developed to deform rectangular specimens of different widths using a 30 mm hemispherical punch. Further, effect of various parameters such as change in circular grid size, stretching direction with respect to rolling direction of the sheet, punch size and deformation speed on limiting strains was investigated. It was observed that there was marginal change in limiting strains due to the change of punch diameter from 30 mm to 50 mm. The FLD0 level changed approximately 7.5% and 6.8% with the change in punch diameter and stretching direction respectively. It was also found that the FLD0 value increased by 15% with change in circular grid diameter from 2.5 mm to 2.0 mm. However, a negligible change in the limiting strains was noted when the grid diameter was further reduced to 1.0 mm. There was negligible change in the FLD0 level with increase in punch speed from 4 mm/min to 100 mm/min, but approximately 13% decrease was found when the punch speed was further increased to 400 mm/min.     An Ultra WideBand CMOS Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) is presented. Due to really low power consumption and extremely high data rates the UWB standard is bound to be popular in the consumer market. The LNA is the outer most part of an UWB transceiver. The LNA is responsible for providing enough gain to the signal with the least distortion possible. CMOS 0.18µm TSMC technology has been chosen for the design of the LNA at the transistor level. As many as five on chip inductors are implemented for the proper gain shaping over the frequency range of 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz. A noise figure of 3.98 dB is achieved to make sure noise contribution of the amplifier is as low as possible

    Constrained cosmological model in f(Q,T)f(Q,T) gravity with non-linear non-metricity

    The f(Q,T)f(Q,T) cosmological model has emerged as a promising framework for understanding various aspects of cosmic evolution. In this study, we focused on obtaining the constraints of the free parameters in the non-linear form of non-metricity in f(Q,T)f(Q,T) gravity using the HubbleHubble, PantheonPantheon, and BAOBAO datasets. To determine the best-fit values for the model parameters and the equation of state (EoS) parameter, we employed an MCMC analysis. By examining the error bar plots, we observed that both the model curve and the Λ\LambdaCDM curve successfully passed through the range obtained from the datasets. Additionally, we studied the state finder diagnostics and energy conditions to gain insights into the properties of the model. Furthermore, we conducted an analysis using the Om(z)Om(z) diagnostic, which provides a null test for the validity of the Λ\LambdaCDM model.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure

    Image Segmentation and Classification for Medical Image Processing

    Segmentation and labeling remains the weakest step in many medical vision applications. This paper illustrates an approach based on watershed transform which are designed to solve typical problems encountered in various applications, and which are controllable through adaptation of their parameters. Two of these modules are presented: the lung cancer detection, a method for the segmentation of cancer regions from CT images, a watershed algorithm for image segmentation and brain tumor detection from MRI images. Various GLCM features along with some statistical features are used for classification using Neural network and Support Vector Machine (SVM). We describe the principles of the algorithms and illustrate their generic properties by discussing the results of both applications in 2D MRI images of Brain tumor and CT images of lung cancer
