Asset Privatization Trust Information System (APT-IS)

    No full text
Asset Privatization Trust is a government agency tasked with disposing various government assets by selling them to the private sector. The proponents of the study diagnosed several problems in their existing system like difficulty in handling requests and late and inaccurate reports. After studying the various processes as well as the information received and generated by the departments of APT, the proponents conceptualized the idea of an information system that would streamline the necessary procedures in their existing system. The proposed system is called the Asset Privatization Trust Information System (APT-IS). The APT-IS is an automated information system designed to run in a network environment. It is mainly composed of three subsystems: Accounting Information System, Asset Monitoring and Disposition System, and System Maintenance. The Accounting Information System handles the basic accounting processes for the operations of the company. The Asset Monitoring and Disposition System keeps track of the status of assets transferred to APT as they go through the different processes like appraising, advertising, bidding, and selling. The System Maintenance handles the system security. The APT-IS solves the existing system\u27s problems by reducing the need for manpower, supplying more accurate data, minimizing the tedious manual work, generating reports more quickly, giving a faster response to user inquiry, and providing increased data security
