Ideodyssey
This novel begins during Gabe\u27s junior year at Harbor High School, in a time of his adolescence that is challenging in unexpected ways. Two girls suddenly vie for his attention in surprisingly forward manner, straining his long-standing friendship with Mo. In the foothills outside Oak Bend, a new neighbor antagonizes him, and a new student, the first at Harbor high with Indian heritage, brings a radical shift in perspective to the small town. Gabe is perplexed by the mixed heritage of his own family, and his loneliness deepens as the color line divide in the community grows. As racial tensions escalate at the end of the year, Gabe remains apathetic. When violence breaks out, Gabe is forced to choose a side, and although nothing is proven, a later investigation raises new questions. To escape prosecution, he kidnaps Mo and takes to the road, fleeing the town of Oak Bend. They must confront their tarnished friendship and forge an uneasy alliance if they are to both make it home unscathed
Aging and Synaptic Plasticity: A Review
Aging affects all systems, but the brain seems
to be particularly vulnerable to the action of
negative, age-dependent factors. A gradual loss
of memory functions is one of the earliest and
most widespread consequences of brain aging.
The causes for such impairment are still unclear.
Long-term potentiation (LTP) is one form of
neural plasticity, which has been proposed as the
cellular correlate for memory. LTP is affected by
aging, and such alteration might be causally
related to memory dysfunction. In the present
paper, we review the evidence sustaining the
existence of a causal link between cognitive and
LTP impairments, as well as the possible
mechanisms involved. New results indicate a
possible involvement of a deficient reinforcement
of LTP by affective influences
Recurrent Multiresolution Convolutional Networks for VHR Image Classification
Classification of very high resolution (VHR) satellite images has three major
challenges: 1) inherent low intra-class and high inter-class spectral
similarities, 2) mismatching resolution of available bands, and 3) the need to
regularize noisy classification maps. Conventional methods have addressed these
challenges by adopting separate stages of image fusion, feature extraction, and
post-classification map regularization. These processing stages, however, are
not jointly optimizing the classification task at hand. In this study, we
propose a single-stage framework embedding the processing stages in a recurrent
multiresolution convolutional network trained in an end-to-end manner. The
feedforward version of the network, called FuseNet, aims to match the
resolution of the panchromatic and multispectral bands in a VHR image using
convolutional layers with corresponding downsampling and upsampling operations.
Contextual label information is incorporated into FuseNet by means of a
recurrent version called ReuseNet. We compared FuseNet and ReuseNet against the
use of separate processing steps for both image fusion, e.g. pansharpening and
resampling through interpolation, and map regularization such as conditional
random fields. We carried out our experiments on a land cover classification
task using a Worldview-03 image of Quezon City, Philippines and the ISPRS 2D
semantic labeling benchmark dataset of Vaihingen, Germany. FuseNet and ReuseNet
surpass the baseline approaches in both quantitative and qualitative results
Towards Fully Autonomous UAV:Damaged Building-Opening Detection for Outdoor-Indoor Transition in Urban Search and Rescue
Autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology is a promising technology for minimizing human involvement in dangerous activities like urban search and rescue missions (USAR), both in indoor and outdoor. Automated navigation from outdoor to indoor environments is not trivial, as it encompasses the ability of a UAV to automatically map and locate the openings in a damaged building. This study focuses on developing a deep learning model for the detection of damaged building openings in real time. A novel damaged building-opening dataset containing images and mask annotations, as well as a comparison between single and multi-task learning-based detectors are given. The deep learning-based detector used in this study is based on YOLOv5. First, this study compared the different versions of YOLOv5 (i.e., small, medium, and large) capacity to perform damaged building-opening detections. Second, a multitask learning YOLOv5 was trained on the same dataset and compared with the single-task detector. The multitask learning (MTL) was developed based on the YOLOv5 object detection architecture, adding a segmentation branch jointly with the detection head. This study found that the MTL-based YOLOv5 can improve detection performance by combining detection and segmentation losses. The YOLOv5s-MTL trained on the damaged building-opening dataset obtained 0.648 mAP, an increase of 0.167 from the single-task-based network, while its inference speed was 73 frames per second on the tested platform.</p
Guess The Pic 4 kids: juego educativo para Android.
y euskera
