Some conjectures on the ratio of Hankel transforms for sequences and series reversion
For each element of certain families of integer sequences, we study the
term-wise ratios of the Hankel transforms of three sequences related to that
element by series reversion. In each case, the ratios define well-known
sequences, and in one case, we recover the initial sequence.Comment: 9 page
Simple closed form Hankel transforms based on the central coefficients of certain Pascal-like triangles
We study the Hankel transforms of sequences related to the central
coefficients of a family of Pascal-like triangles. The mechanism of Riordan
arrays is used to elucidate the structure of these transforms

Dicarba-closo-dodecarborane-containing half-sandwich complexes of ruthenium, osmium, rhodium and iridium : biological relevance and synthetic strategies
This review describes how the incorporation of dicarba-closo-dodecarboranes into half-sandwich complexes of ruthenium, osmium, rhodium and iridium might lead to the development of a new class of compounds with applications in medicine. Such a combination not only has unexplored potential in traditional areas such as Boron Neutron Capture Therapy agents, but also as pharmacophores for the targeting of biologically important proteins and the development of targeted drugs. The synthetic pathways used for the syntheses of dicarba-closo-dodecarboranes-containing half-sandwich complexes of ruthenium, osmium, rhodium and iridium are also reviewed. Complexes with a wide variety of geometries and characteristics can be prepared. Examples of addition reactions on the metal centre, BâH activation, transmetalation reactions and/or direct formation of metalâmetal bonds are discussed (103 references)
Differential Mortality and Retirement Benefits in the Health and Retirement Study
This analysis uses data from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) to examine the sources of variation in mortality for individuals of varying socio-economic status (SES). The use of the HRS allows a distinction between education and a measure of career earnings as primary determinants of socio-economic status for men and women separately. We use those predictions of mortality to estimate the distribution of annual and lifetime OASDI benefits for different birth cohorts spanning the birth years from 1900 to 1950. We find differential rates of mortality have had substantial effects in altering the distribution lifetime benefits in favor of higher income individuals
The impact of generational differences on the workplace
Purpose â The aim of this paper is to explore workplace implications of the changing workforce demographic.
Design/methodology/approach â The author identifies the different generations in today's workforce. The workplace expectations of the different generations are explored.
Findings â Corporate real estate (CRE) managers need to establish the different needs of the different generations. In addition, the CRE manager needs to create an environment that allows all generations to coexist in the same workplace.
Practical implications â CRE managers can use the information to assist in alignment of their workplace to the different generational expectations of the workforce.
Originality/value â The paper fills a void by evaluating office occupiers' workplace preferences based on age.</p
