An Implementation of Divide and Conquer Clustering Technique for Improving the Interoperability in Hybrid Cloud Environment

    Get PDF
Cloud computing provides users with pool of resources ubiquitously on demand. While the resources are provided to the users, interoperability needs to be considered. Interoperability is the ability of the cloud environment to transfer the data internally or between the data centers seamlessly. Interoperability is the least studied issue in the field of cloud computing. This paper implements hybrid cloud as a solution to interoperability. Hybrid cloud is chosen for its powerful combination of high configured and secured private clouds and fast accessible and scalable public clouds. The interoperability is then proposed to be enhanced by implementing divide and conquer algorithm of clustering in hybrid cloud

The purpose of this research was to explore the perception of employees working in the software industry towards Human Resource Development (HRD) roles, functions, and professionals. This research adopted a quantitative methodology and administered a survey to understand how the employees perceive the different HRD roles and their importance in the organization. The research also studied the different perceptions employees may have towards the HRD professionals and their competencies. The participants in this study belonged to the software industry and have been working in their current technical job roles for atleast a year. A survey was used to collect data and was designed on an online platform – Google Forms. The survey was designed in a way to include all the roles and functions described in the competency model designed by The Association of Talent Development in 2014. The participants ranked Learning and Knowledge Management as the most important HRD function. The participants also perceived that HRD professionals possess a business acumen and are capable of accommodating cultural differences in the organization. The results of the study indicated a general amiable perception towards the HRD roles, functions, and professionals

Analysis of Classifiers for Prediction of Type II Diabetes Mellitus

    Get PDF
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease and a health challenge worldwide. According to the International Diabetes Federation, 451 million people across the globe have diabetes, with this number anticipated to rise up to 693 million people by 2045. It has been shown that 80% of the complications arising from type II diabetes can be prevented or delayed by early identification of the people who are at risk. Diabetes is difficult to diagnose in the early stages as its symptoms grow subtly and gradually. In a majority of the cases, the patients remain undiagnosed until they are admitted for a heart attack or begin to lose their sight. This paper analyzes the different classification algorithms based on a patient's health history to aid doctors identify the presence of as well as promote early diagnosis and treatment. The experiments were conducted on Pima Indian Diabetes data set. Various classifiers used include K Nearest Neighbors, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine and Neural Network. Results demonstrate that Random Forests performed well on the data set giving an accuracy of 79.7%. © 2018 IEEE.E

Process planning for fixturing of custom machined implants

    Get PDF
This thesis presents a process planning methodology for orienting and fixturing bone prior to the rapid machining of custom bone implants. The motivation is to automatically create custom bone implant fragments that will fill voids caused by extreme trauma. Fixturing can be one of the biggest challenges of any manufacturing process, in particular, for custom components. CNC-RP is a Subtractive Rapid Prototyping (SRP) process which employs the concept of sacrificial supports for fixturing. The support structures are added to the CAD model prior to tool path planning and subsequently created during the machining process along with the other part features. This method of adding support structures has been proved successful for the machining of industrial components out of cylindrical stock material. Due to the unique position of the implant corresponding to the density distribution within natural bone (stock), it is a challenge to create the same support structures. An alternative approach has been identified which will uniquely address this problem by adding supports externally, in the form of metal screws. A set of existing algorithms identify the harvesting site of the implant; the algorithms also yield the location and the direction of the support structures in the form of co-ordinates and vectors. The methodology presented in this work provides a novel method to physically add the support structures at precise position and direction utilizing a five axis fixture. Using the principles of inverse kinematics, the rotations and translations are determined. The resulting co-ordinates of the support positions are used to insert the supports

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF MEPHEDRONE IN A BULK FORM

Objective: Two simple and sensitive Spectrophotometric methods are developed for estimation of Mephedrone. Methods: The first method is based on oxidation of the drug with alkaline Potassium Permanganate at room temperature (25± °c). The increase in absorbance of colored Manganate ions was measured at 610 nm. The second method is based on the oxidation of the drug with 1, 10–phenanthroline producing red colored chromogen which is measured at 510 nm. Results: All parameters affecting the developments of the color were investigated and the conditions were optimized. Under the optimum condition used, Beer's law was obeyed in the concentration range 40-160 µg/ml and 80-220 µg/ml for method A and B respectively. Molar absorptivity was found to be 4.60×102 L. mole-1 cm-1and 3.89×102 L. mole-1 cm-1 respectively. Conclusion: The proposed methods are well suited for determination of Mephedrone in bulk samples

Objective: The study aims at developing the hydrophilic matrix tablet of carbamazepine (CBZ) using an optimization technique. The purpose of the study was to develop the hydrophilic matrix dosage form using the combination of different viscosity grades of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) to get the release within the desired target dissolution profile (TDP).Methods: A full factorial design was employed to develop once a day matrix tablet using hydrophilic matrix polymers like HPMC K4M (X1), HPMC K15M (X2) and HPMC K100M (X3) as independent variables and the percent drug release at 1h (Y1), 8h (Y2) and 20h (Y3) was considered as dependent variables. The optimization and the design space were obtained using response surface methodology and multiple response optimization using the polynomial equation. Results: The result indicates that concentration of all the three polymers plays an important role in the release of the drug for 24h. The formulated tablets have good physical properties and the optimized formulation prepared using design space showed the release within the target dissolution profile and followed zero order release pattern. Conclusion: The results demonstrated that design of an experiment can be used to develop hydrophilic matrix dosage form with the desired drug release properties.Â

The molar absorptivity and sandell sensitivity are found to be 666.66 L mol-1 cm-1 and 0.77 µg/cm2 respectively. The regression equation for chloroquine was found to be y = 0.0013X+0.005 and the correlation coefficient for the regression line were 0.999. Conclusion: The developed method could be successfully applied for determination of chloroquine in pharmaceutical formulations. The results obtained are in good agreement with those obtained by using the standard method

The Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) have been used at very large scale for monitoring, recording and getting popular in whole world. The major goal of Closed Circuit Television system is monitoring or observing crime and tracking the objects. The smart phone Mobile world is also expanding at a rapid scale since the technology was invented. Most of smart phones users live in those countries where usage of CCTV system is very common in life. This project studies a monitoring system for smart phone mobile users based on CCTV system, where information will be sent from mobile phones to server so that CCTV system can work more specifically and accurately by monitoring and tracking objects. A safety assurance approach is proposed, in which a user can inform his location for close observation. If he/she feels like a potential threat. In that case of emergency situation, location, problem and all possible difficulties can be determined in comparatively less time by concern authorities like police as they have already monitoring the situation.
